Euros Group A: Punters Have Made Their Minds Up Already

2004 winners of the Euros, Greece are 10/3 to qualify for the knockout stages of the event with Russsia (1/10) and Czech Republic (4/5) the two favourites to make it through. Greece will have to defeat Russia and are 4/1 to do so, while also hoping for a draw in the Poland/Czech Republic game – offered at 9/4.

Punters do not hold out much hope for the Greeks, however, with Russia backed, at this early stage, to the tune of over 90% of all bets staked on the match. Russia represent one of Hill’s biggest liabilities to win the tournament as well, with a six figure sum to be paid out if they manage to upset the pre tournament odds of 20/1.

“Going into the final round of games in Group A, there is still so much to play for, but our punters certainly seem to have made their minds up already,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Poland have also been very well backed by punters ahead of their game against Czech Republic, with 82% of all early bets staked on them to win.

Group A

4/1 Greece; 8/11 Russia; 5/2 Draw
23/10 Czech Republic; 5/4 Poland; 9/4 Draw

Winner: 3/10 Russia; 4/1 Czech Republic; 7/1 Poland; 33/1 Greece

To qualify (not to): 1/10 Russia (11/2); 4/5 Czech Republic (10/11); 11/10 Poland (4/6); 10/3 Greece (1/5)

Scotland 50/1 Instead Of 3/1 To Qualify After Paying Penalty

SCOTLAND PAY PENALTY NOW 50/1 TO QUALIFY INSTEAD OF 3/1

WILLIAM HILL make Scotland 50/1 outsiders to qualify for Euro 2012 after the stunning disappointment of conceding ‘the penalty that never was’ to the Czechs who were able to equalise as a result. ‘Had the penalty not been given and Scotland won the game 2-1 we’d have been quoting them at 3/1 to make it to the Euro 2012 finals, instead they are now 50/1 no-hopers because of the penalty that never was’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Looking a little further ahead Hills make Scotland 11/4 to qualify for the next World Cup, but 1/ 4 not to.

Which Young Gunner Will Last The Distance? The Dragon Or The Lion?

Jack Wilshere has been given a starting berth ahead of the England vs Wales match although William Hill offer 8/11 that his Arsenal counterpart Aaron Ramsey plays more minutes during the game. Hills have enhanced the price of Aaron Ramsey being the first goalscorer, on the back of him being offered the Welsh armband, from 16/1 to 25/1 online. 12/1 is offered for either of the pair to get sent off.

“The two Arsenal youngsters have proved themselves to be two of the hottest properties in the Premier League and it will be interesting to see how the pair fare when facing up against each other,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Wilshere/Ramsey Odds:

Will They Play 90 Minutes:
Ramsey: 4/7 yes; 5/4 no
Wilshere: 4/6 yes; 11/10 no

You Bet: Asamoah Gyan Will Be The Best Of The Transfer Deadline Deals

Following the wranglings that took place during the final hours of the transfer window, William Hill have opened a book on which of the last minute signings will end the season with the most goals. Hills make Asamoah Gyan the 11/10 favourite ahead of 3/1 Franco Di Santo and 10/3 Eidur Gudjohnsen. Rodrigo Moreno and Aleksander Hleb are relative outsiders at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively.

Hills have also opened a match bet between Darren Bent and Gyan. Hills are offering 2/5 that Bent scores more than Gyan from now until the end of the season, while Gyan is priced at 7/4.

“At £13 million, Gyan has a lot to live up to, but compared to his rivals, we think that he could well deliver the goods, however, it seems unlikely that he will outscore Darren Bent, who has proven himself to be one of the most prolific scorers in the league in recent years,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Transfer Deadline Day Specials:

Score Most Goals: 11/10 Asamoah Gyan; 3/1 Franco Di Santo; 10/3 Eidur Gudjohnsen; 6/1 Rodrigo Moreno; 8/1 Aleksander Hleb

Bent/Gyan Match Bet: 2/5 Bent (-2); 7/4 Asamoah Gyan (+2)

25/1 CHELSEA NOT TO CONCEDE UNTIL NOVEMBER!

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on when Chelsea will eventually concede a Premier League goal this season – and make them 11/10 to do so in their next game at West Ham – but 25/1 not to do so before November. ‘Having made a perfect start to the defence of their title, Chelsea are unlikely to ease off any time soon, but with City and Arsenal to play in their next four games they’ll do well to avoid conceding during that run of matches’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

BERBATOV 9/4 TO OUTSCORE ROONEY

WILLIAM HILL offer 9/4 that Berbatov will end the season with more Premier League goals to his credit than colleague Wayne Rooney, who is currently 1-2 behind, but is 1/3 favourite to win their private battle. ‘Wayne is off and running with a penalty and most will expect him to overhaul Berbatov fairly rapidly and certainly to finish ahead on league goals by the end of the campaign.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
