William Hill Signs Ground Breaking Betting Industry Deal With The Fa To Become An ‘official Supporter’ Of The England Team And ‘official Supporter’ And ‘official Betting Partner’ Of The Fa Cup

EUROPE’S LEADING GAMING AND BETTING GIANT EXPANDS ITS SPORTS SPONSORSHIP PORTFOLIO

The UK and Europe’s leading gaming and sports betting business, William Hill, has agreed a two and a half year deal with The Football Association to become an ‘Official Supporter’ of the England football team, and ‘Official Supporter’ and ‘Official Betting Partner’ of The FA Cup.
The deal with the FA, the first of its type for the betting industry, comes into effect on January 7, 2012* and continues through to the end of The FA and FIFA World Cups in 2014. The agreement features a wide and unique range of image rights, advertising and promotional opportunities.
Ralph Topping, Chief Executive of William Hill said “We have been looking for sponsorship opportunities from which we can reward and engage with our customers for the events they most enjoy. “Our ‘Official Betting Partner’ status of The FA Cup complements our existing partnership with the Scottish Football Association and our sponsorship of the Scottish Cup with which we are already extremely delighted and it becomes a welcome addition to our quality range of sponsorships within **darts, snooker and racing.
“The next two and a half years are an exciting time for UK football and we’re delighted to now be part of all of those events.”
Kristof Fahy, Chief Marketing Officer for William Hill said “This is an excellent deal for both parties and it gives us some very good opportunities to develop our brand across a wide variety of channels. They have a strong track record in sports sponsorship and a considerable online and high street presence that will enable us to strengthen our communication platforms for England and The FA Cup. In return, William Hill will benefit from an association with two of the highest-profile football sponsorship properties in the world.”

Mancini Bookie Enemy Number One !

You bet Mancini bookies’ least favourite Italian since Frankie as:
‘FOOTBALL’S DETTORI DAY’ KICKS BOOKIES WHERE IT HURTS

WILLIAM HILL say that Saturday’s football results were so predictable for punters that they enjoyed their best ever day in the eternal battle with ‘the old enemy’
‘If Heineken ever created football results for football punters, these would have been the ones’ declared William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe .’They are the culmination of a run of results during the month, which have been as wallet-warming for football punters as the unseasonably mild November weather.

‘In the Premier League almost every punter was on Manchester City, Manchester United and Arsenal to win; the top two in the Championship, Southampton and West Ham both won; the top five in both League One and League Two all won, as did the top two in the Blue Square Premier. Celtic won in the SPL, and the only slight relief was that Rangers were held to a home draw, but then the games in the William Hill Scottish Cup did us no favours, either! It made for a perfect storm of results which have cost us a significant seven figure sum on a day when no bookmaker can have escaped a record payout.

It is football betting’s equivalent of racing’s Dettori day in 1996, when Frankie rode all seven winners at Ascot, costing the industry almost £50million- and we are again blaming an Italian, this time unbeaten Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini, for kicking off the mayhem by beating the only other unbeaten club in the Premier League’
Punters backing long-odds accumulative bets were the biggest winners, collecting four and five figure sums from modest stakes.

Stream Hoping To Make Waves In William Hill Scottish Cup

Coldstream have started their William Hill Scottish Cup journey earlier than any other team in the first round of the competition. The team from the Borders region set off on their marathon 600 mile round-trip to Wick on Friday morning in high spirits.

The Captain John Crawford is relishing the trip to Wick “It’s really exciting for us to be heading up to the Highlands. We have a lot of new players in the team and it’ll be a great bonding exercise for the lads.”

“Wick might be 300 miles away in distance, but we don’t think there’ll be too much difference on the pitch.”

William Hill, the Scottish Cup sponsors, have supplied a luxury coach for the team to travel up to the game and the Streamers Chairman Steve Wright was thrilled with the gift from the new Cup sponsors. ‘It was a really nice gesture by William Hill to put on the coach for us. It’s a mammoth trip up to the Highlands and it’s nice to be travelling up in a bit of luxury.

‘We haven’t the best record in the Scottish Cup, but we’re hopeful of getting a positive result against a very good Wick team. The bookies don’t fancy our chances, but we hope they’re proved wrong.’

Wick are the 1/4 favourites with the sponsors who make Coldstream 6/1 – with the draw on offer at 9/2.

‘Coldstream have lost 18 of their last 20 Scottish Cup ties – so the omens don’t look too good for the Streamers,’ said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny, ‘However, they’re a young squad and they’ll go to Wick without any fear of the Highlanders.’

‘The odds suggest a Wick victory, but so far our punters are betting on the draw.’

The trip to Coldstream was the third leg of the William Hill Scottish Cup visits. The SFA and William Hill are taking the Cup on a tour of the country and giving the real fans a chance to get their hands on the oldest Cup trophy in Association football.

On Wednesday, the Cup was in Fort William in the Highland’s where the Fort were due to play Boness United. Unfortunately this game has been postponed.

On Thursday, the Cup went to the William Hill shop in Galashiels ahead of the big Borders derby clash between Gala Fairydean and Hawick Royal Albert in Selkirk. The region which is traditionally a rugby area, but football will be the focus of attention tomorrow afternoon when the more than local pride will be at stake.
