Mourinho Managerial Mania

MOURINHO MANAGERIAL MANIA – PUT THE HOUSE ON IT!

JOSE MOURINHO’s house-buying trip to London has seen punters desperate to back him to become a manager in England – or of England!
‘Mourinho’s odds of becoming England manager have been slashed from 20/1 to 12/1 FOURTH FAVOURITE – he is 5/2 FAVOURITE to become the next permanent Manchester United manager; 5/2 JOINT FAVOURITE to do likewise at Chelsea; 6/1 SECOND FAVOURITE to do so at Spurs and 14/1 FOURTH FAVOURITE to land that role at Arsenal’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, ‘Punters have gone Mourinho mad- and are indiscriminately backing him for any and every high profile managerial job they can think of – in fact, if the money is inspired he could soon find himself in charge of FOUR Premier League clubs AND the England team’.

LATEST WILLIAM HILL NEXT PERMANENT (Contract of year or longer) ENGLAND BOSS ODDS… 1/7 Redknapp; 8/1 Pearce; 9 Guardiola; 12 Mourinho; 14 Hodgson; 16 Hiddink.

Bent 11/4 For Euros Squad, Gerrard 4/1 To Quit After Tournament

Darren Bent thinks that he will be fit enough to make the Euros but William Hill do not agree, offering 1/4 he fails to make the squad (11/4 to make it) and 1/9 that he fails to start England’s first match against France (5/1 he does).

Stuart Pearce is keeping his cards close to his chest, refusing to name his captain until tomorrow and William Hill are offering Even money that whoever wears the armband against Holland, does so for England’s first match of the Euros against France (8/11 not to). Steven Gerrard is one of those potentially in line to captain England tomorrow night although his should he get the gig, it could only be a short term arrangement with Hills offering 4/1 that he does not play another game for England after the Euros (1/7 that he does).

“Gerrard has hinted that the Euros could be his final hurrah, but should he guide the side to victory, he could lead the side to Rio in 2014,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Captain Scott Slashed For France Match…tevez Start Anytime Soon Could Be Stretch…mourinho Househunt Sparks 4/9 Gamble

Scott Parker is strongly rumoured to have been offered the England captain’s armband for tonight’s match vs Holland and this has seen his odds of captaining the Three Lions against France in the Euros slashed by William Hill. Having previously been 7/4 second favourite, he is now 11/8 joint favourite with Steven Gerrard (whose odds have drifted from 10/11).

“Stuart Pearce has reportedly made Scott Parker his captain, but he may not be in charge when the Euros roll around,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “A new manager may well have a very different opinion of who should lead the country.”

Carlos Tevez pulled on a Manchester City shirt for the first time since September (albeit for the reserves) and William Hill make him 1/8 to make an appearance for City at any point during the rest of the season (9/2 not to). He is 9/2 to feature at any point during the Bolton game this weekend, although he is 2/1 to fail to feature for the City senior team during the next five matches.

“Tevez looked somewhat distressed (as did the shirt that he had squeezed into) and he would appear to be a long way from match fitness,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Jose Mourinho has been spotted in the UK, sparking rumours that he is set for a return to the Premier League. William Hill make him 4/9 to no longer be in charge of Real Madrid by the first game of next season. He is 5/2 to become the next permanent Manchester United manager, 7/2 for Chelsea, 6/1 Tottenham and 14/1 Arsenal.

When will Tevez next play: 9/2 Bolton; 11/4 Swansea; 10/3 Chelsea; 4/1 Stoke; 6/1 Sunderland; 2/1 none of these fixtures

“Scotland have only lost one match in their last six and that was against Spain and we think that Wednesday’s game could be very close indeed,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Dutch Courage For Youngsters Ahead Of Replacing Rooney And Bent At Euros

England face Holland on Wednesday and with the Dutch two places higher in the FIFA rankings than England, William Hill offer 4/6 that they progress further in Euro 2012 than England (11/10 vice versa). England are 8/1 to win the tournament, but are 2/1 to go out in the group stages and the same price to go out in the quarter finals.

Darren Bent has been confirmed as being out for three months and William Hill are offering 1/2 that Theo Walcott starts against France, 5/6 Daniel Sturridge does, 11/10 Danny Welbeck and 5/1 Adam Johnson.

“With Wayne Rooney out of the first two games and now the natural replacement, Darren Bent, potentially being out of the whole tournament, the goalscoring burden may now rest on the very young collective shoulders of Walcott, Sturridge and Welbeck,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Harry Redknapp remains in the driving seat to become the next England manager (4/9) and is odds on, at 1/2 to be in charge of them during the European Championships. Stuart Pearce is 2/1 with any other manager offered at 7/1. England are 12/1 to win the Euros under Redknapp, 25/1 to do so under Pearce and 50/1 to lift the trophy under any other manager.

Robin van Persie will undoubtedly be looking to continue his rich vein of form at Wembley and Hills make him 4/1 to outscore England when they meet on Wednesday and he is 5/1 to outscore England for the whole of the tournament in the summer.

Giggs 20/1 To Reach Four Figures…liverpool 4/9 For Barren 2012/13…torres Troubles

Ryan Giggs celebrated his 900th Manchester United appearance by scoring a goal and William Hill offer 20/1 that he reaches 1000 appearances. “Ryan will have to play for at least another three years in order to reach the 1000 games mark although the way that he has been playing recently suggests that the evergreen Giggs could easily do that,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Liverpool 4/9 For Barren 2012/13

Liverpool lifted the first silverware of the season on Sunday, when they won the Carling Cup and William Hill are offering 2/1 that they win one trophy next season and 8/1 they win two or more. They are 4/9 to win no silverware in the 2012/13 season. “There have been many people talking about Arsenal’s barren seasons but Liverpool, until Sunday, had suffered a similar streak and winning the League Cup is unlikely to paper over the cracks and they will really have their work cut out in order to follow it up next season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Liverpool are the 5/2 joint favourites to win the FA Cup with Spurs and are 10/3 to finish in the top four in the Premier League, undoubtedly a top target for Kenny Dalglish. Liverpool are 7/1 to win the League Cup next season.

Torres Troubles

Fernando Torres has been suffering in the goals department since joining Chelsea and he has finally been dropped from the Spain squad. Hills are offering 6/4 that he fails to go to Euro 2012 (1/2 to make it). Torres is 13/8 to have left Chelsea by the start of next season (4/9 to still be there).

Torres to make the Spain Euro 2012 squad
Yes – 1/2
No – 6/4

Torres to score at Euro 2012

No – 4/9

Pearce’s “old” Boys Could Feature In Future If He Gets Permanent Role

Stuart Pearce allowed Stewart Downing to take the Press Conference for England today and William Hill make the Liverpool winger 33/1 to be England’s captain for their first Euro 2012 game (the same price as Rio Ferdinand). James Milner holds the record for most under 21 appearances, many of which were under Pearce and he is 14/1 to be given the captain’s armband for the France game. Steven Gerrard is the 10/11 favourite although there is a suggestion that should Pearce be in charge at the Euros, he will turn to a number of his U21 stalwarts. Micah Richards is 5/2 to start England’s first game of the tournament, with Kyle Walker 7/4, Danny Welbeck 4/6 and Daniel Sturridge 8/11.

“Pearce knows a lot of these players from his U21 days and he certainly would not have called them up if he thought they would not be up to task,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Frazier Campbell has impressed since returning to action following a year on the touchline and he could mark his miraculous return to form with an England cap. William Hill make him 1/4 to make any form of appearance on Wednesday (11/4 to remain unused).

The match against Holland will be a good test for England against a side who must be confident of reaching the latter stages of the Euros and Hills are offering 12/1 that they meet in the tournament and England qualify.

England Captain for Euro 2012 game vs France: 10/11 Steven Gerrard; 7/4 Scott Parker; 11/2 Joe Hart; 10/1 Frank Lampard; 14/1 Gareth Barry; 14/1 James Milner; 20/1 Ashley Cole; 33/1 Rio Ferdinand; 33/1 Stewart Downing

England vs Holland goal scorer match bet: 10/3 Daniel Sturridge; 10/3 Danny Welbeck; 4/7 tie
*both must start or bets void

Frazier Campbell to make his debut: 1/4 yes; 11/4 no
*Debut counts as minutes played, even as a substitute

To start for England vs France at Euro 2012:

Micah Richards: 5/2 yes; 2/7 no
Glen Johnson: 8/11 yes; 1/1 no
Danny Welbeck: 4/6 yes; 11/10 no
Daniel Sturridge: 8/11 yes; 1/1 no
Kyle Walker: 7/4 yes; 2/5 no

Next permanent England manager: 4/9 Harry Redknapp; 6/1 Stuart Pearce; 7/1 Pep Guardiola; 11/1 Guus Hiddink; 12/1 BAR

FA Trophy: Luton Favs As They Draw Bogey Team

Despite drawing bogey side, York, Luton are the 6/4 favourites to win the FA Trophy, with William Hill making York and Newport 9/4 shots with Wealdstone 8/1 outsiders. Hills think that the final will be contested by Luton and Newport County, offering odds of 5/4 that these two line up at Wembley on the 20th May.

FA Trophy Winner: 6/4 Luton; 9/4 York; 9/4 Newport; 8/1 Wealdstone

FA Trophy – Nominate the finalist: 5/4 Luton/Newport County; 13/8 York/Newport County; 5/1 Luton/Wealdstone; 6/1 York/Wealdstone

8/13 City/united Forecast…tevez May Be Kicking His Heels For Some While Yet

Manchester City made relatively light work of Blackburn and William Hill are offering 8/15 that they win the league. Their nearest rivals, Manchester United, are 13/8 to win the league. Hills are offering 8/13 for Manchester City to finish first with their rivals in second.

Carlos Tevez was nowhere to be seen as City lined up to face Blackburn and despite his apology, he may face a thankless task getting his old spot back seeing as Dzeko, Balotelli and Aguero all netted. William Hill are offering odds on when he will next don a City shirt and offer 11/4 that it is when they face Bolton on the 3rd March, 5/2 Swansea, 7/2 Chelsea, 5/1 Stoke and 11/2 Sunderland. He is 3/1 to take no part in any of these games. He is, however, 1/8 to play for City this season (9/2 not to).

“Tevez’s apology has paved the way for a return to action, but he may have to wait a while as there are three strikers ahead of him bang in form,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
