Pearce knows a lot of these players from his U21 days and he certainly would not have called them up if he thought they would not be up to task, said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly.

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Charles NZogbia from Wigan and William Hill think he will have a better season than the player he was brought in to replace, Stewart Downing.
