Money On Mcglynn To Be New Hearts Boss

John McGlynn has been backed by William Hill punters to take up the vacant manager’s role at Tynecastle.

The Raith Rovers boss is 7/1 to take the post but ex Lokomotiv Moscow boss Jose Couceiro is still the favourite for the Hearts hot seat at 11/10. 40% of bets on the market have been placed on McGlynn.

“McGlynn has done a solid job at Raith Rovers leading punters to believe that it could be time for a step up. He is somewhat of an outsider with Couceiro heading the market and ex players Paul Hartley and Stephen Pressley close to him. It is a case of watch this space,” said Hill’s spokesman Mark Young.

Next Hearts Manager: 11/10 J Couceiro, 5/1 S Pressley, 11/2 G Locke, 6/1 C Cameron, 6/1 P Hartley, 7/1 J McGlynn, 10/1 B Davies, 12/1 T Butcher, 14/1 J Jeffries, 16/1 J Robertson, 16/1 L Clark, 16/1 S McCall, 16/1 D Weir, 20/1 D Gvildys, 20/1 E Riabovas, 20/1 R Zutautas, 20/1 S Clarke, 25/1 J Calderwood, 25/1 D Adams, 33/1 A McCleish, 40/1 B Reid.

Historic Edinburgh Derby Final Could Breach £2 Million Mark

The William Hill Scottish Cup reaches its climax on Saturday and the tournament sponsors make Hearts the favourites to lift the trophy in a match that is expected to attract up to £2 million turnover industry wide. The Jambos are 4/7 to win the tournament outright and 6/5 to so in 90 minutes. Hibs are 11/8 to win the trophy and 2/1 to do so in 90 minutes, with the draw also 2/1. Of the £2 million expected to be wagered, Hills predict that 3/4 of that will be from north of the border as Scottish football fans embrace the last match of the season.

“We have not seen an all Edinburgh final for over 100 years and we think that the absence of the Old Firm will pique everybody’s interest just that little bit more,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

With so much riding on the game, the match will undoubtedly tense and very close and Hills are offering 6/1 that the match goes to penalties, while both sides are 10/1 to win the match in that way. Given that this is the first Edinburgh derby in the Final for over 100 years, it could well be a fiery affair and it is just 2/1 for a red card to be shown during the game.
