Spain To Make History In Biggest Match Since World Cup Final?

UP TO 500 BETS PER MINUTE TO BE PLACED

Up to £25 million is set to be bet on this year’s Euros Final with Spain the 6/5 favourites with William Hill and Italy 13/5. Over the course of the two semi finals, 82,209 bets were staked in-play (while the match is being played), equating to 391 bets per minute and 7 bets per second, but Hills are expecting this to increase to around 500 bets per minute at some points during the Final.

“Despite England being nowhere near this game, we are still expecting turnover to be huge on this game,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We think that the game itself will approach the £25 million mark industry wide, which would place it at a similar level to the 2010 World Cup Final and would far exceed any game of football that has been played since then.”

The match is expected to be a relatively close affair and is 21/10 to end level at 90 minutes and is 4/1 to go to penalties. Spain are 8/15 to lift the trophy while Italy are 6/4 to do so. Spain could become the first European side to win back to back major tournaments and it is 4/6 that the next tournament that they fail to win is the World Cup in Brazil, although they are 25/1 to not lose a tournament until at least the 2018 World Cup.

“Over the last four years or so, Spain have become the model that every other international side wants to emulate and they are a once in a lifetime side,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “By winning the Final on Saturday, they could cement their place as the best European side to ever play the game.”

Mario Balotelli was the architect of Italy’s victory against Germany in the Semi Final and he is 7/1 to score the first goal, while Hills are also offering the same price for Super Mario to score and Italy to win.

Spain’s performances in this tournament have been highlighted by patient, possession football and William Hill are 9/4 that they have between 60% and 65% of the match possession and 5/2 that they have 66% or more. Spain could become the first European side to win three back to back tournaments

You Bet Little Winker Has Matured Into Euro Hero For Portugal

Spain are the 2/5 favourites to make it through to the final of the Euros and William Hill think that they will do so in style, offering 7/4 that they have between 56 and 60% of possession during the game and 2/1 that they have between 61 and 65%.

All eyes will be on Cristiano Ronaldo as he tries to propel his team into the final of the Euros. William Hill make him 4/1 second favourite to win the Man of the Match award and 6/1 to score the first goal of the game.

“Ronaldo has dragged his teammates through a group they were not expected to qualify from and now, playing against players he faces on a weekly basis, he could take them to the final,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “That is if the Portuguese players can get the ball off their Spanish counterparts.”

Hills are expecting between £3 and £4 million to be staked on each of the semi finals, although had England qualified, at least £6m would have been staked on the Germany match alone.

Match betting: 7/2 Portugal; 10/11 Spain; 11/5 Draw

Man of the Match: 3/1 Andres Iniesta; 4/1 Cristiano Ronaldo; 5/1 Fernando Torres; 7/1 Xavi; 8/1 David Silva; 9/1 Alvaro Negredo; 9/1 Cesc Fabregas; 10/1 Nani; 10/1 Pedro; 12/1 BAR

You Bet It’s Time To Drop The Flops

Of the players that started for England on Sunday night, there were a number of players who have been the mainstay of England’s underperforming side for the last 10 years or so. William Hill are now offering just 9/1 that Hodgson drops at least eight of those for their first match of the World Cup qualifiers. He is 6/5 to remain relatively loyal to his quarter final players with 6/5 offered for eight or nine of them to start vs Moldova.

England did show sporadic flashes of ability during the Euros, although all too infrequent and all eyes now turn to the World Cup qualifying. With a supposedly “easy” group, England are 1/5 to qualify and 4/9 to top the group. With England still unbeaten under Roy Hodgson (not counting penalties), Hills are 5/2 to qualify for the World Cup in Brazil without losing a game. Once there Hills do not think that they have much hope of winning the tournament and they are 20/1 to lift the Jules Rimet in two year’s time – the biggest price they have ever been for a World Cup.

“England hardly impressed during the tournament, but at the same time, showed a new found resilience. A bit of tinkering from Roy could produce a winning formula for the qualifiers and we think they will breeze through to Brazil,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The Euros take pause for a few days as the semi finals loom on the horizon and William Hill are taking stock on what has been a torrid tournament for the bookies so far. “Not even England’s exit has given us any cheer,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Before last night, we had gone 14 games without a draw and when that happens, we are always going to take a bit of a kicking. On the plus side though, we have two fantastic semi finals in the pipeline and we reckon that turnover for the last three games could approach £10m for us alone.”

William Hill Semi Finals:
7/2 Portugal; 10/11 Spain; 11/5 draw
5/6 Germany; 19/5 Italy; 11/5 Draw

Winner: 13/8 Spain; 13/8 Germany; 11/2 Portugal; 11/2 Italy

England World Cup Qualifiers:
1/5 Qualify (10/3 not to)
4/9 Top the group (13/8 not to)
5/2 Qualify without losing a group game (2/7 not to)

How many of England’s starting XI vs Italy will start vs Moldova (7/9/12): 9/1 0-3; 2/1 4-7; 6/5 8-9; 9/4 10-11

England World Cup 2014 winner: 20/1

Ronaldo And Portugal Give Bookies £2m Headache!

Cristiano Ronaldo fired Portugal into the semi finals of the Euros and William Hill now make them 5/1 third favourites to win the tournament behind Germany at 2/1 and Spain at 5/2. Hills paid out between £1.5 and £2 million on the match after taking on Ronaldo and Portugal, with a £700,000 payout on their industry top price of 2/1 on the talismanic winger scoring and Portugal winning.

“After England/Ukraine, this is our second worst result of the Euros and we’ll certainly be cheering on Greece tomorrow,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Ronaldo is the runaway favourite (at 5/2) to win player of the tournament with 2/1 offered that he ends the tournament as top scorer and 1/2 he wins the Ballon D’or.

Euro 2012:

Winner: 2/1 Germany; 5/2 Spain; 5/1 Portugal; 8/1 England; 8/1 Italy; 10/1 France; 50/1 Greece

Spot Kick Heartache 9/2 For Roy’s Boys

No strangers to penalty exits, William Hill are offering 9/2 that England are knocked out of the Euros in the cruellest of ways (they are 1/8 to not be eliminated by penalties). Elimination at the hands of spot kicks is quoted at 9/2 but 1/8 that penalties do not decide the Three Lions’ fate.

William Hill are betting on how many of the quarter finals will go all the way to a penalty shootout with 4/6 being offered for all four to be finished without a shootout. One game is 11/8, two is 7/1, three is 25/1 and all four matches to go to a shoot out is 100/1. Germany are 14/1 to win the final with spot kicks.

There has not been a nil-nil scoreline in the Euros since the semi finals of Euro 2008 but William Hill go 5/6 for there to be at least one 0-0 draw (in 90 minutes) in the remainder of the tournament. It is also 5/6 there won’t be. After 24 matches every game has had at least one goal.

“The competition could get edgier as more and more is put on the line but we feel the quarter finals will be settled, at the maximum, within 120 minutes but good news for England is that their fate is not fancied to be settled by penalties. That should keep fingernails from biting a bit,” said William Hill spokesman Mark Young.

After the first round of the Euros, William Hill can report that they have just about broken even. The book has been aided by a couple of high profile draws but the positives from that have been negated by the fact that England, Wayne Rooney, Mario Gomez and Cristiano Ronaldo have all been on form.

How Many Quarter Finals will go to Penalties?
4/6 None
11/8 One
7/1 Two
25/1 Three
100/1 Four

Score line of 0-0 in the rest of the tournament?
5/6 yes, 5/6 no

England to exit the tournament in a penalty shootout?
1/8 no, 9/2 yes

14/1 Germany to win the tournament on penalties

2012 Fa Cup Is Over…roll On 2013 – Di Matteo 4/7 To Still Be In Charge Next Season

Chelsea won the FA Cup 2012 and William Hill make them 7/1 joint third favourites to win next season’s competition behind the two Manchester sides, with Liverpool 10/1 to do so. Roberto Di Matteo’s interview for the Chelsea job appears to be going swimmingly and William Hill make the Italian 4/7 to be in charge of the club on the first day of next season (5/4 he is not). On the other side of the manager’s technical area, Kenny Dalglish has not had the best of times and he is 5/6 to have left Liverpool by the start of next season (5/6 to still be there).

“Di Matteo has turned the fortunes of Chelsea around and whatever the result in Germany, we think that he will still be manager next season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Fernando Torres failed to play a single minute of the final and Hills make him 9/4 to have left Chelsea by the start of next season. Andy Carroll started the match on the bench but came on and bossed the forward line for Liverpool and he is 8/15 to still be at Liverpool come the start of next season.

A potentially contentious decision saw Andy Carroll’s header saved by Petr Cech with it unsure as to whether the ball had crossed the line and Hills offer 9/4 that goal-line technology is introduced in England by the first game of next season (1/3 that it is not).

Goal-line Technology Now 11/4 For Next Season…champions League Latest

Spurs were on the receiving end of a controversial decision at Wembley on Sunday and Sepp Blatter has revealed that FIFA are willing to experiment with goal-line technology in June and William Hill are offering 11/4 that it is in place for the start of the Premier League next season (1/4 it is not).

Another controversial decision came at Old Trafford where Ashley Young won his second dubious penalty in as many weeks and William Hill are offering 3/1 that he is booked for simulation during the run in to the season.

Despite Tottenham’s recent slump in form, culminating in their 5-1 defeat to Chelsea in the FA Cup, Harry Redknapp is 1/4 to become the next England manager, with Roy Hodgson 4/1 and Stuart Pearce 6/1.

“Since Capello left England, seemingly thrusting Redknapp into the seat overnight, Spurs have won just once,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “As the old adage goes though, form is temporary, class is permanent.”

Chelsea now have a two legged affair against Barcelona to contest and Hills offer 12/1 that they win the Champions League AND the FA Cup.

Di Matteo has only seen one defeat since he took over as Chelsea boss, but despite this, he is the 11/4 second favourite to become the next permanent Chelsea boss with Hills who go 2/1 Benitez and 11/4 Mourinho.

The Champions League semi finals kick off on Tuesday and William Hill make Barcelona the 6/5 favourites to be the highest scoring team of the four this week, with Real Madrid 5/2, Bayern Munich 11/4 and Chelsea 9/2.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Lional Messi both reached the landmark of 41 goals in La Liga and William Hill make Ronaldo the 4/5 favourite to end the season as the leading scorer in Spain, Messi is just behind at 10/11.

How Long Will Crawley’s Cup Run Continue?

Only two matches went to replays of Saturday’s FA Cup ties and William Hill make Southampton the 4/11 favourites to qualify from their tie against Millwall, while Hills cannot split Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool, offering 5/6 about the pair qualifying.

The biggest result, however, was Crawley’s 1-0 victory away to Hull and Hills are offering odds on when the Red Devils get knocked out of the competition offering 2/9 that they do so in the fifth round. They are 300/1 to go all the way and win the trophy and 125/1 to finish as runners up.

“Crawley are repeating the feats that took them so far last season and while they have captured the imagination of the FA Cup this year, we think they may well come a cropper in the next round,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
