LIVERPOOL LOYALTY KICKS IN AS PUNTERS BACK REDS TO MAKE IT

LIVERPOOL have been backed from 8/1 to 9/2 with William Hill to make it through to the next stage of the Champions League following their disastrous draw with Lyon last time out. ‘The extraordinary belief in Liverpool’s ability to turn inevitable defeat into victory in the Champions League can be the only reason that we have seen a sustained gamble on what looks to be a remote chance of progress’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILLIAM HILL make Liverpool odds on to FAIL to finish in the top four of the Premier Lesague this season – quoting them at 8/11 to finish 5th or lower and Even money 4th or higher. ‘Rafa’s confidence is impressive – but we’re far from convinced that Liverpool will manage to finish in the top four’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Jeffries Gamble Underway As Burley Looks Doomed

Early ‘Killie-cash’ gamble on Jeffries as:
NO MORE BETS ON BURLEY TO GO

HAVING OFFERED 7/4 that Scotland boss George Burley would lose his job before the qualifiers for the next Euro tournament get underway, William Hill closed the book once it became obvious that he is likely to be sacked before the end of the week.
And punters have already poured cash on Kilmarnock manager Jim Jeffries succeeding Burley, forcing his odds down from an opening 20/1 to 5/1 joint favourite, along with Craig Levein and Walter Smith. Hills also offer 6/1 Gary McAllister; 7/1 Owen Coyle; 8/1 Billy Davies; 10/1 Darren Ferguson; Joe Jordan 12/1 Kenny Dalglish; Mark McGhee.
‘This is likely to be a very volatile market in the early stages, but the very fact that we are already seeing plenty of interest in Burley’s successor pretty much guarantees that he won’t be seeing the week out’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

How Will New Scotland Boss Fare ?

Hills close book on new manager, but ask:
HOW WILL NEW SCOTLAND BOSS FARE?

WILLIAM HILL, who are no longer betting on WHO will be the next Scotland manager, have opened a book on HOW well the successful candidate will do, and how long he or she will last in the post. ‘Given the fact that Ralph Topping, our CEO is also non-executive chairman of the SPL we would not like any aspersions to be cast in his or our direction in the event of any major gamble taking place on the identity of the new Scotland managerial appointment, so we have decided to close our book. All bets already taken will be honoured.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills offer 8/1 that the new incumbent will succeed in getting Scotland qualified for the final stages of both the Euro 2012 and 2014 World Cup – but 4/6 that they fail to qualify for either. And Hills offer 11/4 that the new boss will still be in charge on January 1, 2014.

Last Tango In Paris? – Bookies Slash Odds On Ireland V France Replay

William Hill have cut the odds of a replay taking place between Ireland and France from 100-1 to 10-1 following a huge swell of support behind the Irish cause.

The bookies have also reported strong money for Thierry ‘le hand’ Henry getting an official sanction from FIFA or UEFA. They originally offered odds of 10-3 for him to get a ban, but they are now only offering 9-4.

William Hill’s Irish spokesman Tony Kenny said “Punters seem to believe there is a real chance of FIFA ordering a replay and as a result, we’ve been forced to dramatically alter our odds.” He continued “We still think it’s very unlikely there will be a rematch between Ireland and France, but you never know!”

William Hill have also re-installed Ireland into their World Cup 2010 betting at an unlikely 1000-1.

++ William Hill have already pledged to refund all the punters who backed Ireland to qualify for next year’s World Cup finals.

CHELSEA 6/4 TO LEAD FOR REST OF SEASON AND 11/4 TO BEAT UNITED INTO SECOND

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on which two teams will end up first and second in the Premiership mtitle race this season, and offer 11/4 that it will be Chelsea first, United second – with Chelsea now quoted at 6/4 to remain top for the remainder of the season. ‘Chelsea have eked out a five point cushio, albeit with a game in hand, but many punters regard that as game over and are betting that noone will manage to get ahead of the Blues now’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Meanwhile, Hills still make Phil Brown odds-on favourite to be the first Premiership manager to leave his club this season, quoting him at 8/13, with Paul Hart 4/1 and Rafa Benitez 5/1. ‘Phil seems to be clinging to his job on a match by match basis at the moment, but the clash with fellow strugglers West Ham looks particularly vital to his future prospects’ said Hill’s spokesman Sharpe.

Roy Keane 8/1 To Be Next Republic Boss

Replay odds slashed from 100/1 to 10/1:
YOU BET KEANE BLAST COULD BE JOB APPLICATION!

PUNTERS believe that Roy Keane’s blast at the Republic for failing to qualify for the World Cup may lead to him being invited to manage the team himself and have cut their odds about him becoming their next manager from 10/1 to 8/1. ‘Keane is obviously a very high profile character and it may just be that by saying what he did he was actually putting himself in the frame to take the side over when Trapattoni stands down- although he probably needs to improve his record at Ipswich first!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
HILLS HAVE SLASHED THE ODDS ABOUT THE FRANCE-IRELAND GAME BEING REPLAYED FROM 100/1 TO 10/1. ‘Despite FIFA’s insistence that the game will not be replayed, punters are determined to bet that it will, and we have taken hundreds of bets, average size between £10 and £20, that it will happen.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
