WHAT A GLOVELY BET!

WITH BOSS Ian Holloway revealing his dislike of the trend for players to wear gloves, William Hill have opened a book on how many of his players will turn out for kick off of their game with Manchester United this weekend sporting the hand-wear. ‘Ian is unashamedly old-scholl and he is no fan of players wearing gloves – but we reckon a few of his players may defy their boss and wear them for the United game’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

England 10/1 To Host 2030 World Cup

England now 10/1 to host 2030 World Cup……..£3 billion mega-gamble at 2018 World Cup?
THEY WILL NOT HOST IT, BUT YOU CAN BET ENGLAND WILL GO INTO 2018 WORLD CUP FINALS WITH STUART PEARCE AS BOSS, JACK WILSHERE AS SKIPPER, AND DAVID CAMERON AS PRIME MINISTER!!

DESPITE ENGLAND NOT HOSTING the 2018 World Cup, bookmakers William Hill are predicting that the tournament could produce the biggest betting turnover ever for a major sporting event of up to £3billion- and England are 14/1 with Hills to win it.
‘Each World Cup ALWAYS produces the biggest betting event so far, but with the tournament taking place in the home of both football and betting we are already anticipating an amazing betting bonanza with up to £3billion being gambled on the 2018 tournament worldwide – at least double what the 2010 event managed’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’However, had England won we’d have expected a betting turnover of up to £5billion.’

ENGLAND are now 10/1 with William Hill to host the 2030 World Cup. ‘We’re now finding it as difficult to make a serious bid to host the World Cup as we do to win Eurovision’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

HILLS have already opened a book on a number of elements of the 2018 tournament: ‘The shrewd punters backed Russia – one South London customer staked £2000 on them at 4/5 -but a late patriotic gamble which promoted England back to the favouritism they lost after the Sunday Times revelations made the market a six figure winner for us – which is some (very) small consolation for the World Cup not coming home’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

ALREADY, Hills have put up markets for who will manage and skipper the England side which takes the field for the country’s first game of the 2018 World Cup finals – and which other players will be part of it – Wayne Rooney is 2/1 to make it, (and 9/1 favourite to score England’s first goal of the Finals) (1/2 not to) but the shortest priced contender is Jack Wilshere at 7/4 (4/7 not to). ‘Over seven years is a long time to wait for your winnings, but if you correctly select a player who starts you’ll be receiving back over 175% profit on your original investment – not something many banks and building societies are likely to be able to match!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘And we are offering our punters a 100% market because of the timeframe, leaving no profit margin for ourselves’ he added.

Webb Winner And Goal Line Technology

GOAL LINE TECHNOLOGY NOW ODDS-ON FOR WORLD CUP, SAY BOOKIES

WILLIAM HILL believe it is now an odds-on shot that goal-line technology will be in place when the next World Cup Finals get underway in 2014. ‘Having offered 5/1 about it happening after the Lampard fiasco we are now going 1/2 that it will be a done deal when the next Finals kick off’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

William Hill…..Will goal line technology be in use for the first match of the 2014 World Cup Finals?

Yes 1/2
No 6/4

WEBB’S WORLD IS A WINNER

HOWARD WEBB, who was backed down from 6/4 to 4/11 to take charge of the World Cup Final, is more likely to award a penalty than to send a player off in normal time at the Final, say bookmakers William Hill who offer 3/1 about the former, and 7/2 the latter. ‘Webb was well backed to get the Final,so he is the only Englishman to cost us any sort of World Cup payout’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILLIAM HILL WEBB SPECIALS
Howard Webb to award a penalty during normal time 3/1
Howard Webb to send a player off during normal time 7/2
Howard Webb to send a player off at any time (including extra time) 11/4
Howard Webb to order a penalty to be retaken during normal time 25/1 (20/1 incl extra time)

All the below include extra time.
Uruguayan Ref – Howard Webb to miss an incident (and not award a goal) where the ball is clearly shown to cross the goal line 50/1
Russian Ref – Howard Webb to award a goal where the ball is clearly shown not to cross the goal line 50/1
Thierry Henry – Howard Webb to give a goal when a clear handball is shown to have occurred in the build up 8/1

WILLIAM HILL MAKE ROBERT GREEN 4/7 FAVOURITE to start in goal for England’s second game, with David James offered at 15/8 and Joe Hart at 6/1. ‘This must be the best kept secret in football history’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, ‘It is vIrtually unheard of to be able to bet on something of this nature within twenty four hours of kick off time.’

YOU BET GERRARD WILL KEEP GOAL-SCORING RUN GOING

STEVEN GERRARD has scored three of England’s last five goals and is 5/4 to notch again against Algeria.

But Wayne Rooney is favourite to end up as England’s top scorer with Hills at 13/8, with Gerrard at 5/2. Lampard is 6/1, with Crouch 8/1; Defoe and Heskey 12/1.

14/1 ENGLAND TO WIN NEXT TWO GAMES – AND THE WORLD CUP!

ENGLAND are 14/1 with Hills to defeat both Algeria and Slovenia, and then go on to win the World Cup. ‘This should be an attractive bet for anyone who fancies England to go all the way – because if they can’t win both of these matches they won’t have much chance of lifting the trophy’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

ENGLAND are 1/4 to beat Algeria, 11/1, with the draw 9/2. To win Group: 8/15 England; 3/1 USA; 19/5 Slovenia; 66/1 Algeria.

WORLDWIDE WEBB?…Ref Howard Webb will be secretly hoping England fail to reach the World Cup Final – because if they do that will scupper his chances of being handed to top job for the game’s arbiters.

Webb performed well in his first game of the tournament and Hills quote him at 6/1 to get the nod to ref the Final. (Stakes refunded if England reach Final).

FABIO SET TO JOIN GREEN PARTY?
William Hill have again cut Robert Green to start in goal for England against USA. “Green had drifted out to 11/2 but starting the first half against Mexico and pulling off some decent saves seems to have persuaded punters that he has every chance of heading the Keepers pecking order”, said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe as they shortened Green from 9/4 to 13/8 with David James now out to Even money favourite from 4/5. Joe Hart has drifted out to 10/3.
