Bookies Burned By Hottest Ever October!

The hottest ever October record temperature was broken on the first day of the month and bookmakers William Hill have been stung by an Indian Summer betting bonanza by meteorological punters. The odds of this month seeing the all time record of 29.4C (1985) had been backed in, all the way from 6/4 to 8/11 by the time that betting ceased at midnight on the 30th September.

“The previous record was officially confirmed as having been smashed just after one o’clock and Hills forked out a five figure sum to eager punters – no doubt on their way to buy burgers and bangers for a final Barbie of the year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We must have been the only people in the country praying for wind and rain.”

Premier League Latest: Arsenal Gunning For Fifth As United Odds On To Stay Unbeaten Longest

Arsene Wenger has made no secret of the fact that his Arsenal side is struggling and William Hill reckon the Gunners will miss out on Champions League football next season. Hills have them at 8/15 to finish 5th or sixth this season while their odds of a top four finish is 9/4. They are 40/1 to win the league and 100/1 to be relegated. Arsene Wenger is 9/4 to have left Arsenal by the end of the season and 8/1 to be the first Premier League manager to leave his job.

Hills offer 13/8 that Arsenal concede over 55 goals this season and are 1/16 to end the season with no silverware.

“Arsenal’s form at the moment is nowhere near the high standards that they have set over the past few years and Nasri and Fabregas appear justified in having left the Gunners in search of silverware,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

In stark contrast to Arsenal’s shaky start, United are five for five this season and are 1000/1 to win every single game this season and 10/1 to remain undefeated all season. They are odds on for the first time this season to win the league, at 4/6 while their cross city rivals are 5/2 to do so. Hills offer 6/4 that Manchester United win the league with City in second while it is 3/1 for City 1st and Utd 2nd.

Wayne Rooney is 13/8 to win the golden boot this season, with Sergio Aguero 11/4.

After the weekend’s matches, there are now only four unbeaten sides in the Premier League and William Hill make Manchester United the 2/5 favourites of the four to remain undefeated for the greatest number of matches. City are 2/1, while Newcastle are 16/1 and Villa 25/1.

Arsenal finishing position: 40/1 winner; 9/4 top four; 8/15 5th or 6th; 6/1 7th – 10th; 10/1 11th-17th; 100/1 relegated

Last team to lose in EPL: 2/5 Man Utd; 2/1 Man City; 16/1 Newcastle; 25/1 Aston Villa

1000/1 Utd to win every match this season

10/1 Utd to remain undefeated all season

Arsenal goals conceded this season: 15/8 under 48; 6/4 49-55; 13/8 over 55

First Premier League manager to go: 4/6 Steve Kean; 9/2 Steve Bruce; 8/1 Arsene Wenger; 9/1 Alan Pardew; 10/1 Neil Warnock; 12/1 David Moyes; 12/1 Harry Redknapp; 16/1 Mick McCarthy; 20/1 BAR

Premier League forecasts: 6/4 Utd/City; 3/1 City/United; 4/1 Utd/Chelsea; 8/1 Chelsea/Utd; 16/1 City/Chelsea; 25/1 Chelsea/City

Arsene In Trouble…8/1 To Be Next To Go, 9/4 To Go This Season

Arsenal’s humbling at the hands of Blackburn have seen William Hill shorten his odds of NOT being at Arsenal on the last day of the season to 9/4. He is 1/3 to still be there. Arsene Wenger is back down to 8/1 to be the next manager to leave their club having drifted out to 12/1 on transfer deadline day.

“Arsene brought in a number of players on transfer deadline day, intended to strengthen the side, but the new faces appear, at first glance, not to have done the trick and Wenger could be out on his Arsene very soon,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills offer 10/1 that Arsenal finish in the bottom half and having conceded another two own goals, Arsenal are 4/1 to score at least another five own goals this season. Arsenal are now far and away the Premier League’s leakiest side and Hills offer 13/8 that Arsenal concede over 55 goals this season.

William Hill Odds:

How Many Own Goals Will Arsenal Score This Season: 13/2 None; 5/2 One; 5/2 Two; 9/2 Three; 10/1 Four; 4/1 Five or more

Wenger to be in charge on the last day of the season: 1/3 yes; 9/4 gone

8/1 Arsene Wenger to be next Premier League manager to go

Total Arsenal goals conceded in PL this season: 15/8 under 48; 6/4 49-55; 13/8 55 or more

10/1 Arsenal to finish bottom half this season
