Blatter’s Penalty Promise Not Worth A Punt…

WEEKEND SPECIALS

Sepp Blatter has come out and claimed that he is looking into a way of eradicating penalty shootouts from football although, William Hill are sceptical that it will happen any time soon, offering 16/1 that no games in the 2014 World Cup go into penalties. It is also Even money for at least one of the playoff games this weekend to go the full distance.

16/1 No games to go to penalties at Rio 2014

How many of the playoff games this weekend will go to penalties: 19/20 none; 1/1 one; 15/2 two

Who Will Be The Youngest Lion To Tame The Cockerels?

John Ruddy has been forced out of the England Euro’s squad and 19 year-old keeper, Jack Butland has been called in to replace him. He is not the youngest person to have been called up, however, with Alex Oxlade Chamberlain the sole 18 year-old. William Hill are betting on who will be the youngest player to feature in the match against France and make the Ox the 15/8 favourite, with Danny Welbeck 9/4 and Phil Jones 11/4. Butland, who is undoubtedly going to be the third choice keeper is 50/1 to be the youngest England player to feature vs France.

Who will be the youngest player to feature for England’s first game vs France:
15/8 Chamberlain (15/8/93); 9/4 Welbeck (26/11/90); 11/4 Jones (21/2/92); 4/1 Walcott (16/3/89); 12/1 Hart (19/4/87); 25/1 Milner (4/1/86); 33/1 Young (9/7/85); 40/1 BAR

Eden Hazard has confirmed that he has narrowed his options down to three clubs, all based in England and William Hill make Manchester City the Even money favourites to sign the Belgian midfielder, with Manchester United 13/8 and Chelsea 5/2. Should he have a change of heart, he is 8/1 to join Barcelona and 12/1 to go to Real Madrid.

Latics Boss Backed For Anfield

Roberto Martinez is the 4/9 favourite to be named as the next permanent Liverpool manager as everyone else in the market drifts. Andre Villas Boas, who had been as short as Even money is the 6/1 second favourite.

“Liverpool have struggled in their attempts to find someone to take over from Kenny Dalglish but it now appears that Roberto Martinez is willing to step into the breach,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next permanent Liverpool manager: 4/9 Roberto Martinez; 6/1 Andre Villas Boas; 8/1 Louis Van Gaal; 8/1 Brendan Rodgers; 14/1 Jurgen Klopp; 14/1 Pep Guardiola; 16/1 Rafael Benitez; 20/1 Frank Rijkaard; 25/1 Harry Redknapp; 25/1 Carlo Ancelotti; 25/1 Didier Deschamps; 25/1 Fabio Capello; 33/1 BAR

WOMEN’S FA CUP FINAL TO BREAK ALL RECORDS

William Hill are expecting Saturday’s Women’s FA Cup to turnover a record sum for a ladies match for which Birmingham City are 19/20 favourites to win in 90 minutes.

“Last year’s women’s World Cup was fantastic for turnover on ladies’ football and the fact that the Olympics are just around the corner, we are expecting betting interest to really take off for this match,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

King Kenny’s Crown Slipping While Di Matteo Impresses At Chelsea

WILLIAM HILL have slashed their odds about Kenny Dalglish ceasing to be Liverpool manager by the start of next season from 5/2 to Even money after their latest Premier League setback – and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is 5/6 NOT to score another Premier League goal this season, and 5/2 to have left the club before next season. His chances of going to the European Championships seem to have fizzled out and he is 7/2 to head on the plane to Poland (1/6 not to). He is far more likely to go to the Olympics – offered at 4/7 (5/4 not to).

Jack Wilshere may play for Arsenal before the end of the season, but his return may come too late for an England call up this summer, offering 4/6 he stays at home (11/10 he goes). Fernando Torres ended his massive Premier League goal drought and he has run into quite a bit of form in recent weeks. Hills are offering 4/6 that he travels as part of the Spain squad to the European Championships this summer (11/10 he does not).

Roberto Di Matteo is now 2/1 joint favourite to permanently get the Chelsea manager’s job having been as long as 8/1 at one point. Jose Mourinho is also 2/1 with Pep Guardiola 9/2.

WILLIAM HILL –

Carroll 5/6 not to score another Prem goal as:
DALGLISH ON BRINK?

WILLIAM HILL have slashed their odds about Kenny Dalglish ceasing to be Liverpool manager by the start of next season from 5/2 to Even money after their latest Premier League setback – and Liverpool striker Andy Carroll is 5/6 NOT to score another Premier League goal this season, and 5/2 to have left the club within that timeframe. ‘It was not a good day for either Dalglish or Carroll and as former Liverpool striker Torres begins to pull out of his own crisis, so Carroll will find himself more under the spotlight for his lack of goals’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Arsenal Put Up Fight But Fall Short…chelsea Ease Into Last Eight Of Fa Cup

Arsenal fought bravely but fell just short as they aimed to conquer the mountain that was a four goal deficit against AC Milan. Before the game, William Hill punters piled into Arsenal – to win the match (23/20), to qualify (20/1) and to win 5-0 (125/1), all amounting to liabilities of well over £1 million.

“As Van Persie’s penalty hit the back of the net, I have to say we were torn,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It would have been fantastic to have witnessed such an epic comeback, but at the same time, we would have been on the receiving end of a seven figure walloping.”

Hills think that Arsene Wenger’s side showed such guts to get back to 4-3 and Hills think that they could well ride the crest of such a good performance, offering 8/15 that they finish in the top four of the Premier League, to continue their rich tradition in the Champions League. Alex Oxlade Chamberlain ran himself to a standstill during the game and William Hill are offering 5/4 that he makes it into the England squad for the European Championships.

Progression in the Champions League would have been the only thing to keep alive Arsenal’s hopes of ending their six year drought without a trophy, but Hills think that they could make up for that, offering 2/1 that they win at least one piece of silverware next season.

For the first time, Robin van Persie has moved to odds on (8/11) that he is no longer at Arsenal on the first day of next season (he is even money to still be there).

TWO GOALS AGAINST DUTCH – THREE IN ENTIRE EURO FINALS?

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on how many goals England’s top scorer in the Euro finals will score and make THREE their 2/1 favourite, with TWO a 9/4 chance and ONE, the ‘winner’ in the last World Cup, a 7/2 shot. ‘Whoever manages the side in the Euros will need to prioritise his strikers pretty quickly as, at the moment, there are several contenders to start up front in the opening game to stake a claim for a permanent place in the side’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

HARRY FAVOURITE – BUT 11/8 NOONE PERMANENTLY IN PLACE FOR FIRST EURO GAME
WILLIAM HILL offer 11/8 that the permanent England manager will NOT be in place when the Euro 2012 tournament kicks off – but 8/15 that the FA will have appointed Fabio Capello’s successor by then. ‘It may not be possible to bring in their preferred option in time for the Euros, particularly if that option’s club is involved in the latter stages of a European tournament.’ Said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

WILLIAM HILL are offering odds of 2/1 that John Terry will NOT be part of the final England squad for the Euro 2012 tournament. ‘Reports suggest that Terry is not happy about losing the captaincy and there must be a possibility that he will decide to retire from representing his country’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
