Bookies Cannot Separate League 2 Hopefuls

William Hill cannot separate Stevenage and Torquay as they go head to head for a spot in League One, with both sides offered at 7/4 for victory at Old Trafford. The draw is 2/1. Torquay have kept a clean sheet in seven of their last nine games and Hills are offering 8/5 that they do so during Saturday’s game. Torquay’s Chris Zebroski is the 6/1 favourite to score first, while Stevenage’s Craig Reid and Byron Harrison are both 13/2 to do likewise. Stevenage are 4/5 to lift the trophy, while Torquay are 10/11.

“Just one point separated these two sides at the end of this season and the betting suggests that this game will be nip and tuck all the way,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Huddersfield are the slight 6/4 favourites to defeat 19/10 Peterborough on Sunday, while Swansea just shade the betting for Monday’s Championship match at 17/10 against 9/5 Reading.

Hills are 11/5 that the Stevenage vs Torquay game is the highest scoring game of the three Play-Off matches. Hills offer 13/8 that one of the three games goes to penalties and 3/1 that all three sides promoted via the Play-Offs avoid relegation next season.

Fergie Set To Ring Changes For Visit Of Chelsea

Manchester United made light work of Schalke at Old Trafford with a second string side and Sir Alex Ferguson now looks ahead to his tie with Chelsea on Sunday. Hills offer 11/10 that just two of Wednesday’s starting XI take to the field at the start of the weekend’s big match and 11/1 that four or more do so. Following Manuel Neuer’s capitulation in front of the Old Trafford crowd, Hill’s have lengthened the odds of him starting United’s first game of next season to 8/1 from 11/2. The odds suggest that if Fergie is to bring in another keeper, it will more than likely be David De Gea, who is 9/4 to start United’s first game of next season.

“Fergie obviously had one eye on Sunday’s game when naming his side against Schalke and the odds suggest that he will ring the changes against Chelsea,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

United are the 7/5 favourites to win on Sunday, while Chelsea are offered at 19/10. The draw is 23/10. All eyes will be on the two sides’ big strikers and Hills are offering markets on what both Torres and Rooney will do first. WILLIAM HILL are now quoting odds of 5/1 that Torres fails to score in any Premier League or Champions League game for Chelsea this season. ‘He had one or two half chances against United but his confidence is clearly suffering the longer the blank run continues’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
And Hills now make Ancelotti 4/7 NOT to be Chelsea boss on the first day of next season, 5/4 still to be there. ‘Ancelottoi would appear to need to turn United over at Old Trafford in the 2nd leg at the very least to retain his job’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Will Second Bite Of The Cherry Get Fergie’s Son Into Old Trafford Hotseat?

William Hill are offering 25/1 that Peterborough win League 1 and 50/1 that Darren Ferguson is Sir Alex Ferguson’s replacement at Manchester United. For Ferguson to get Peterborough into the Premier League within five years is 16/1.

“Because of his family ties, Ferguson will always be in the running for the Manchester United job, however, the odds suggest that Fergie Sr’s retirement, when it comes, will be a touch too early for his son,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are also offering odds on how many Manchester United players Peterborough take on loan during January and are offering 5/6 that none make the move. It is 3/1 that one swaps Old Trafford for London Road and 2/1 that two do.

William Hill Peterborough/Darren Ferguson Odds:

How Many Manchester United Players Will Peterborough Take On Loan (January signings only): 5/6 None; 2/1 Two; 3/1 One

What Division Will Darren Ferguson’s Next Job Be In: 13/8 League 1; 9/4 Championship; 3/1 League Two; 4/1 Other; 16/1 Premier League

Becks 6/1 To Score Against Man U For Spurs – Kenny Odds On To Get Liverpool Gig Long Term

*************************************WILLIAM HILL MIDWEEK FOOTBALL ROUND UP*****************************************

BECKS TO BATTER FERGIE?….William Hill offer 6/1 that David Beckham will score for Spurs against Manchester United if he signs on loan for them this January. (Bets void if Beckham does not sign for Spurs)

ENGLAND ODDS-ON TO BEAT GHANA. England have been made 1/2 favourites to win their forthcoming friendly with Ghana by William Hill who make the away team a 5/1shot with the draw AT 12/5.

YOU BET KENNY IS THERE FOR LIVERPOOL LONG HAUL

KENNY DALGLISH has been backed from 13/8 to 10/11 favourite to win the manager’s job at Liverpool on a permanent basis following the club’s FA Cup defeat at Old Trafford. ‘Clearly the fact that his team conceded a first minute penalty, had their skipper sent off and failed to score has impressed punters, who haven’t wanted to back anyone else to get the job on a long-term basis’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

NEXT PERMANENT LIVERPOOL MANAGER?….10/11 Dalglish; 9/2 O’Neill; 11/2 Coyle; 6/1 Rijkaard; 7/1 Rangnick; 8/1 Villas-Boas. Others on request.

WHERE WILL LIVERPOOL FINISH IN PREM?….top 4 – 20/1; 5th-7th 11/8; 8th -10th -13/8; 11th-14th – 3/1; 15th-17th – 10/1; Bottom three – 25/1.

WILL KENNY FIND TORRES SCORING BOOTS?….With Kenny Dalglish declaring he can bring the best out of mis-firing striker Fernando Torres, William Hill are betting on how many Premier League goals he will score during the remainder of the season – and make 6 or less their 5/4 favourite. ‘Torres has not looked the same player for Liverpool since the World Cup, at which although he ended up on the winning side he was not over impressive. His form could be the key to the rest of Liverpool’s season’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

GRANT NEXT FOR MANAGERIAL HAMMERING?

AVRAM GRANT is 1/3 favourite with William Hill to be the next Premier League manager to leave his club this season. Hills also offer 11/2 Houllier; 11/2 Ancelotti; 10/1 McCarthy; 16/1 Hughes; 16/1 Martinez; 20/1 Kean; Di Matteo; Mancini; No more managers to go this season. ‘Mr Grant has been favourite in this market on five different occasions so far, and managed to survive thus far, so he probably isn’t even popular with football punters in general, let alone West Ham fans at the moment’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

The FA Cup Third Round was drawn today and William Hill make Chelsea the 4/1 favourites to lift the trophy. Manchester United are the 11/2 Second Favourites with Arsenal and Manchester City both priced at 13/2. The undoubted tie of the round sees Liverpool head to Old Trafford to take on Manchester United, for which the Red Devils are te 8/13 favourites. Liverpool are 7/2 and the draw is priced at 5/2.

You Bet United Will Remain Unbeaten Until Christmas

William Hill are offering 5/2 that Manchester United remain unbeaten until Christmas. Their next fixture this season sees the Red Devils take on Blackburn at Old Trafford and Hills are offering 10/1 that they avoid defeat. They are 20/1 to go the whole season without being beaten. Wayne Rooney will be hoping to string together a run of goals after netting his second goal of the season from the spot against Rangers. Hills are offering 5/1 that he notches his third of the season from the spot. He is odds on, at 4/7 to add to his account with a shot from inside the area.

“Fergie will certainly claim to be focusing all of his attentions on the next game, but he will surely be keeping half an eye on chasing down the record held by Wenger’s unbeatables,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Last weekend was remarkable for the amount of red cards and Hills are offering 10/11 that two or more cards are shown this weekend.

Man Utd are the 6/1 favourites to score the fastest goal this weekend while the North-West derby between Bolton and Blackpool is 7/2 to see the most goals.

Hodgson Favourite To Be Next Boss Out

As Liverpool shortest ever price to be relegated:
NOW HODGSON FAVOURITE TO BE NEXT PREM BOSS OUT!

ROY HODGSON is now favourite with William Hill to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job this season, following Liverpool’s lacklustre display against Everton. ‘The new owners have said they want to give Hodgson their backing, but everyone knows how vulnerable bosses are if they lose the fans, and capitulating to your deadliest rivals is not the best way to keep them on your side ‘ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
WILLIAM HILL HAVE SLASHED LIVERPOOL FROM 18/1 TO 11/1 TO BE RELEGATED – THE SHORTEST ODDS AT WHICH THEY HAVE BEEN QUOTED IN PREMIER LEAGUE HISTORY. AND HILLS ALSO OFFER 80/1 THAT THEY WILL FINISH BOTTOM OF THE TABLE. ‘Liverpool being quoted at just 11/1 for the drop this season, is something we’d have offered longer odds than 11/1about at the start of the campaign!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

ROONEY BACKED TO LEAVE UNITED

WILLIAM HILL have cut their odds for Wayne Rooney to leave Manchester United after punters backed him to go following Sunday newspaper stories suggesting he could soon be on his way out of Old Trafford.
‘Very few punters are interested in backing Wayne still to be a United player at the start of next season and we have cut the odds about him going both during the coming January transfer window – from 7/1 to 13/2, and at the end of the season but before the start of next from 7/2 to 3/1’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
And Hills no longer even make Rooney favourite to top score in the Premier League this season for his own club, offering him at 15/8 to do so – behind favourite Dimitar Berbatov, who currently has a five goal lead over Rooney.

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on which Premier League side will be handed the most red cards during this season, and make Bolton their 11/2 favourites, just ahead of Arsenal, with Chelsea and Manchester United the complete outsiders. ‘Red cards are suddenyl newsworthy after Danny Murphy’s recent comments so we have decided to open a book on who’ll end up the most red-faced at the end of the campaign’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
