Europa League First Night: Hardly Vintage But 20/1 For All Brit Final

None of the British sides won in the Europa League on Thursday night and William Hill but despite this, William Hill are offering 20/1 on an all British final. Tottenham are the 7/4 favourites to progress furthest of all the British sides in the competition with Stoke overtaking Fulham in the betting following their impressive draw in Kiev, at 15/8. Paris St Germain are the 8/1 favourites to lift the trophy at the moment with Atletico Madrid 11/1, however, Hills are offering 2/1 that any side dropping down from the Champions League after the group stages goes on to win the competition.

“It was hardly a vintage night for British football in the Europa League but despite this, we think there could be a chance of an all British final this year” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

28/1 All Manchester Final…2/1 For Giggs To Score Next Year

Both Manchester United and Manchester City were held to draws in their opening Champions League matches and are 6/1 (United) and 10/1 (City) to win this year’s Champions League. Hills make United the 4/6 favourites of the two Manchester sides to progress further in the competition with City 11/10. The price of an all Manchester final has been pushed out slightly from 25/1 to 28/1.

“While neither sides administered the hammering that we were expecting, they did avoid defeat in what were two potentially tricky ties and for this reason, their odds of winning the competition have remained largely the same,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Ryan Giggs scored in his 16th Champions League campaign and William Hill are offering 2/1 that he scores in next year’s competition.

The Europa League group stages kick off on Thursday evening and William Hill make Tottenham the 5/4 favourites to be the British side to progress the furthest with Fulham 11/4. Spurs are the current 10/1 second favourites behind Paris St Germain to lift the trophy, although Hills are offering 2/1 that the winner comes from the Champions League. It would appear that Birmingham and Celtic have the toughest tasks of the British sides with them both being made odds on to fail to get through the group stages, both offered at 4/7 to exit at the first.

“Despite being a lesser competition than the Champions League, the odds suggest that if some of the British teams play their strongest sides then they could well be major players this year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

You Bet Champions League Trophy Could Be Welcomed To Manchester

The two Manchester sides play their first matches in this year’s Champions League and William Hill make United 7/1 to win the tournament and City 10/1. Hills also offer 25/1 that the final is contested between the two sides. With the two sides flying domestically, Hills are offering 16/1 that between them, the two halves of Manchester win the FA Cup, the Premier League, the Carling Cup and the Champions League between them.

“The two Manchester sides are playing extremely well domestically and if they carry that form into the Champions League, there is no reason why one of them cannot win the Champions League this year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Both sides are scoring for fun this season, Wayne Rooney particularly, and Hills offer 40/1 that he scores a hat-trick against Benfica and with the wealth of Manchester City’s attacking options, Hills go 4/1 about any of their players bagging a treble. Rooney is 14/1, along with team-mate Javier Hernandez, to be the competition’s top scorer, while Aguero (16/1), Tevez (25/1, Dzeko (25/1), Balotelli (50/1) and Silva (66/1) are all capable attacking options for Mancini’s side.

Champions League: You Bet There Will Be Goals Galore For British Sides

The Champions League proper returns on Tuesday and William Hill make Manchester United the 7/4 favourites to progress the furthest of the British sides. Chelsea and Manchester City are both 9/4 while Arsenal are 6/1. With City and United both bagging back to back hat-tricks, Hills are offering 13/2 that any English side has a player score three in any of the games this week. Hills offer 11/4 that there are 10 or more English goals in this week’s Champions League with 2/1 offered for Manchester City to be the highest scoring English side this week.

“It has been goals galore for City and United in recent weeks and it looks quite likely that we could see a hatful in the Champions League this week,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Fernando Torres continues his wretched run of form and Hills make him 4/7 to fail to score against Leverkusen and should he start, which appears improbable, he is 4/7 to be subbed and 5/4 to play the whole match.

Goalless Draw Signals Relegation Scrap More Likely Than Lofty Expectations

Following the 0-0 draw between QPR and Newcastle, William Hill are offering 25/1 (QPR) and 12/1 (Newcastle) respectively that the sides qualify for Europe this season. Hills offer 9/4 that QPR are relegated this season and 7/1 that Newcastle are. QPR are 1/3 to stay up, while Newcastle are 1/16. Newcastle have been cut to 80/1 for a top four finish with QPR offered at 200/1.

“The result indicates a dull, goalless draw but in reality it was anything but,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It has shown us that both sides will have a lot to say within the league but would have to be considered more as relegation fodder than European contenders.”

Joey Barton made his debut for QPR and William Hill offer 4/1 that he scores six or more goals for the Royals this season and he is 1/2 to avoid a red card all season.

William Hill Odds:

Joey Barton Premier League Red Cards 2011/12: ½ none; 5/2 one; 9/2 one

Joey Barton Premier League Goals 2011/12: 2/1 0-1; 2/1 2-3; 5/2 4-5; 4/1 6+

Qualify for Europe: 12/1 Newcastle; 25/1 QPR

Relegation: 4/7 Swansea; 4/6 Norwich; 5/4 Blackburn; 15/8 Wigan; 9/4 QPR; 11/2 Bolton; 6/1 BAR

Top 4 Finish: 80/1 Newcastle; 80/1 Fulham; 100/1 West Brom; 150/1 West Brom; 150/1 Wolves; 200/1 QPR; 200/1 BAR

Raining Goals At The Reebok…when Will Manchester Lose?

The two Manchester sides produced two more polished and efficient performances and William Hill are offering odds on how many the pair will score between them next weekend and make go odds-on at 4/6 that between them they score less than five. With both sides maintaining a 100% record, Hills make Manchester City 4/7 to lose first of the two, with United 5/4 to do so. Hills offer 100/1 that both sides end the season undefeated. Wayne Rooney scored his second consecutive hat-trick against Bolton and Hills offer 33/1 that he completes a hat-trick of hat-tricks against Chelsea next week.

Manchester United are 1/2 to end the season having scored more goals than their “noisy neighbours” who are 6/4 to do so. United are 11/10 to win the league with Manchester City 15/8. Chelsea are 9/2.

“United and City are beginning to pull away from their nearest challengers and the clinical way in which both sides are going about their business indicates that any side that comes up against the two powerhouses from Manchester will be turned over with consummate ease,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Our punters are going Manchester Mad this season.”

A side at the other end of the table, Swansea, are still to score in the Premier League but Hills think they will break their duck against West Brom next week at 1/3, with the Chelsea game 10/3. They are 5/1 to score their first goal against Stoke and 16/1 that they do not score in either of those games.

Premier League Outright: 11/10 Manchester United; 15/8 Manchester City; 9/2 Chelsea; 16/1 Liverpool; 25/1 Arsenal; 100/1 BAR

William Hill Premier League Latest

LAST TO WIN/LAST TO LOSE

Blackburn’s failure to win at Craven Cottage means that they, along with hosts Fulham, remain as one of the five teams in the Premier League still to register a victory. Hills offer 23/10 that Blackburn are the last side in the division to get three points, while Fulham are 11/2 to do so. Swansea are the 21/10 favourites.

“It will start to get worrying for those teams at the bottom if they go much longer without a victory and every week, the relegation odds for those sides involved get shorter and shorter,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

At the other end of the table, there are six sides who are yet to be beaten, and Manchester United are 6/5 to go the longest without defeat. Manchester City are 2/1 with Chelsea 9/2.

Last team to lose a Prem match 2011/12: 6/5 Manchester United; 2/1 Manchester City; 9/2 Chelsea; 8/1 Aston Villa; 9/1 Newcastle; 12/1 Stoke

Topsy Turvey Torres Tipped To Start Tomorrow

Fernando Torres was axed by Vincente Del Bosque for Spain’s victory midweek and Andre Villas-Boas has claimed he will not hesitate to drop the striker should his poor club form continue. Bookies, William Hill are offering odds on which will be the first game that he finds himself on the bench (or worse). He is 9/2 to miss Saturday’s match against Sunderland and 11/2 to miss the match against Leverkusen midweek. Torres is 14/1 to fail to start any of the next three games.

“Torres is certainly under pressure to start scoring, but the odds certainly indicate that he will be given a few more starts in order to find his form,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are also betting on how many Premiership goals Torres will get this season and make the favourite between six and 10 at 2/1. The days when Torres used to score 20 plus goals a season seem a long way away at the moment, but he is 8/1 to bag over 20 this season. He is 11/10 to get his first Premier League goal of the season against Sunderland and 7/2 that it comes against Manchester United.

Next Premier League Goal: 11/10 Sunderland; 7/2 Manchester United; 4/1 Swansea; 9/1 Bolton; 14/1 Everton; 4/1 None of these five fixtures

BECKS ODDS ON TO RETURN TO PREMIER LEAGUE THIS SEASON

WILLIAM HILL are offering odds of 4/7 that David Beckham will play in the Premier League this season and 5/4 that he will not as reports suggest that he contact has been made between him and QPR – and Hills also offer 5/6 that he will play for QPR in the Prem this season, 5/6 that he will not. ‘It may well be that David Beckham would like one last hurrah in the Premier League before he retires, and reports suggest that he could do so for QPR, for whom it would be something of a coup.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
