Who’ll Go First – Moyes Or O’ Neill ?

WHO’LL GO FIRST – MOYES OR O’NEILL?

WITH both of their sides making a disappointing start to the new season, William Hill have slashed the odds about David Moyes and Mart O’Neill being the first manager of the season to leave his club – and opened a book on which of the two will go first this season.
Hills make Moyes 7/1 to go first this season; O’Neill 8/1 but offer 1/7 that both will still be in place when the final Premiership game of the season kicks off.
Hills make Villa 8/11 by Hills to finish higher than Everton, who are Even money to do vice versa.
MOYES has been cut from 40/1 to 16/1 by Hills to be the first manager to go this season, with O’Neill down from 33/1 to 20/1. ‘Both are amongst the best regarded managers in the Premiership but their opening results have suggested that they might both struggle to equal or improve upon what their sides managed to do last season, and that could prompt a sacking or resignation’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
HILLS: FIRST PREMIERSHIP MANAGER TO PART COMPANY WITH CLUB: 7/2 Hart; 5/1 Brown; McLeish; 8/1 Hughes; 10/1 Megson; 16/1 McCarthy; Moyes; 20/1 O’Neill; 25 Benitez; Hodgson; Martinez.

Gunners’ Title Odds Slashed

GUNNERS’ TITLE ODDS SLASHED AFTER SIX GOAL HAUL

WILLIAM HILL have slashed Arsenal’s title odds from 9/1 to 11/2 following their demolition of Everton, while Manchester City are now odds on to win the ‘Without Big 4’ market – but 13/8 to break into the top four. ‘Villa’s defeat saved us from a massive payout on the opening day of the Premiership campaign – but if Liverpool and United win on Sunday we’ll be facing a huge battering as thousands of punters have them in accumulators with Arsenal and Chelsea’ said Hill’s spokesman Garahm Sharpe.

Hills offer 8/1 that no Rovers player is booked; 3/1 just one; 9/4 two; 3/1 three; 6/1 four; 8/1 five; 12/1 six. ‘If Dunn and Blackburn wanted to keep on the right side of the ref in this match, he seems to have gone a strange way about it’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

BURN-ING MONEY?
WILLIAM HILL have taken a bet of £300 on Burnley winning the Premiership at odds of 2500/1 – in a Hampstead, London betting shop. ‘It is fair to say that this was the most unexpected bet we have taken on the title race, and we have cut their odds to, er, 2000/1’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, ‘But it wasn’t such a shock to take a £10,000 bet on Manchester City, in the form of a £5000 each-way wager. Burnley and City are our worst potential outcomes in the title race but it is fair to say we are taking one of them more seriously than the other!’

PUNTERS BET ON BROKEN HART

Portsmouth’s Paul Hart has been the heaviest backed manager in William Hill’s ‘first Premiership boss to go’ market. Hart is now 4/1 favourite, having been backed down from 6/1, with Phil Brown and Alex McLeish the 9/2 joint second favourites, and Mark Hughes 6/1 fourth favourite. ‘Pompey’s financial woes and their lacklustre form at the end of the last campaign undoubtedly explain the gamble on Hart, but if their takeover goes through shortly and they are able to bring players in, their situation could change rapidly’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Pompey Drop Odds Cut

Portsmouth slashed from 6/1 to 6/4 for drop:
COULD FINANCIAL WOES SINK POMPEY?

BOOKMAKERS William Hill have cut their odds about Portsmouth being relegated this season from 15/8 to 6/4 after runours of financial meltdown at the club swept the world of bookmaking.
‘We began to hear stories during the afternoon, suggesting that Portsmouth may be in danger of going into administration, so reacted accordingly by cutting their relegation odds just in case there might be something in it – the gamble on Portsmouth to go down has been developing all the way through the close season as the much vaunted takeover has failed to take place. At one time they were 6/1 for the drop – but that price is long gone’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
