Flynn Fluffs His Lines To Leave The Door Open For Ian To Rush In

Brian Flynn took charge of Wales tonight in the first game of his interim employment and it ended in a 1-0 defeat at home to Bulgaria. This has caused bookmakers William Hill to shorten the odds of Ian Rush becoming the next Wales manager from Evens to 5/6. Brian Flynn is now 11/8 having been 6/5 before Friday’s game.

“Friday was Brian Flynn’s big chance to show that he was the man to turn Wales’ fortunes around. It did not quite happen for him and it has now left the door open for Rushy to take over,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Scotland and Wales both lost 1-0 and this seriously jeopardises their chances of qualification for Euro 2012. Wales are now 25/1 to qualify and Scotland are 5/1 with William Hill. Scotland’s odds of winning the competition overall have now drifted to 250/1 from 200/1 and Wales are 400/1 to win the tournament.

Ian In Rush To Replace Flynn Should Wales Wilt

Brian Flynn is taking charge of the Welsh side for their two Euro 2012 qualifiers on Friday and Tuesday but William Hill make him only 6/5 second favourite to take the job on a permanent basis. Should Wales perform well in their two games against Bulgaria and Switzerland, it would certainly not do his chances of getting the job any harm. William Hill are offering odds of 7/4 that Wales gain three points over the two games, 9/4 that they get no points and 20/1 that they get six.

Ian Rush, whose only foray into management was a short stint with Chester, is the Even Money favourite and Chris Coleman is 9/2 third favourite.

“Much depends on how well Wales fare over these two qualifiers. Should they do well, Flynn would be a shoo-in, although should Wales fail to perform, there are contenders waiting in the wings,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Wales Odds:

Next Permanent Wales Manager: 1/1 Ian Rush; 6/5 Brian Flynn; 9/2 Chris Coleman; 8/1 Terry Venebles; 20/1 BAR

Defeat Is Not An Option Say Bookies

Defeat Is Not An Option Say Bookies

William Hill are offering an enhanced price fourfold in preparation for Friday’s Home Nations’ international games. Hills are offering 10/1 that Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all avoid defeat.

Jamie Mackie is set to make his Scottish Debut and Hills make him a 7/2 shot to score first and are offering 15/2 that he scores anytime and Scotland win in Prague. Kenny Miller is the 9/4 favourite to score first and 50/1 to score a hat-trick on what will be his 50th Scottish cap.

The next week could go a long way to determine whether Scotland qualify for Euro 2012 and Hills are offering just 13/10 that Scotland get no points against Czech Republic and Spain. They are 33/1 to claim all six points. Scotland are 10/3 to qualify for Euro 2012.

“Scotland have got a very difficult task ahead of them in the next two games and we certainly do not think that they will cause an upset, in what are the two most important games of Craig Levein’s short Scotland career,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Wales are up against it in their bid to qualify for Euro 2012 and William Hill are offering 20/1 that they manage to emerge from the group. Brian Flynn has taken over the Wales job on an interim basis, however Hills are not expecting much of a honeymoon period and are offering just 9/4 that they get no points in the next two games although he is 6/5 to get the job on permanent basis.

Recently crowned Welsh footballer of the year, Gareth Bale, is an 8/1 shot to get the first goal and 11/4 to score anytime.

“Brian Flynn has been entrusted to guide Wales through two very tricky fixtures. Should his side show promise, he could well get the manager’s role permanently,” said spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill International Football Prices:

7/4 Wales; 7/4 Bulgaria; 2/1 Draw
7/10 Czech Republic; 9/2 Scotland; 12/5 Draw

Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and Republic of Ireland all to avoid defeat 10/1.

Hills are offering 50/1 that one of the clan play for the soccer superstars of the States and 100/1 that one of Becks’ boys pulls on the Three Lions jersey.

Misfiring Liverpool striker Fernando Torres is 9/4 to outscore Carlos Tevez in Thursday’s ties and Even money to score during Liverpool’s game against Utrecht. Torres, who is seemingly unhappy at Liverpool, is now odds on at 4/6 to not be at Liverpool at the start of the 2011/12 season.

William Hill are offering 16/1 that the Europa League Final is contested between the two English sides left in the competition. Manchester City are 4/7 to progress further than Liverpool however.

United Front Set To Blast Bolton

United Front Set To Blast Bolton

Wayne Rooney has a fantastic record of scoring against Bolton, having scored six in the last four meetings between the sides. William Hill are offering 10/11 that he manages to score at any time past a Wanderers rearguard that is without Gary Cahill. He is also 7/2 to score the first goal and 20/1 to score a hat-trick. Should Rooney get frustrated however, his temperament could come under scrutiny and Hills are offering 6/4 that he is booked and 16/1 to be sent off. Hills are offering 6/1 that Bolton win. Manchester United are 1/2 to win in what should be a routine victory.

Dimitar Berbatov is United’s main man at the moment and Hills are offering 7/2 that he bags the first goal. He scored a hat-trick against Liverpool and he is priced at 20/1 to score another this Sunday.

“United are facing their third North-West derby in as many games, and they will be viewing this as an attempt to close the gap on Chelsea. It would be the perfect opportunity for Wayne Rooney to really kick start his season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are also offering odds of 10/1 that Stoke manage to score within 20 seconds of a Rory Delap throw-in against Newcastle. Newcastle are 19/20 to win against Stoke who are 3/1 to leave St James’ Park with 3 points.

Aston Villa are the 8/5 slight favourites in the Midlands derby against Wolves. Wolves are priced at 9/5 to win.

William Hill Sunday Football Odds:

Wayne Rooney: 7/2 to score first; 10/11 to score at any time; 4/1 to score 2 or more; 20/1 to score a hat-trick; 6/4 to be booked; 16/1 to be sent off

Champions League: 14/1 British Bonanza

Bookmakers William Hill are offering a Wednesday British Bonanza bet. 14/1 is offered for all three British teams to win with a British scorer in each game. Hills are also offering a market on which game will see the fastest British goal. Tottenham are the 11/8 favourites to score fastest with Rangers 7/4 and Man Utd 15/8.

“With three British sides in action, it is going to be an evening for our patriotic punters to savour. Should all three win with British scorers it will be even sweeter,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

The game between Tottenham and FC Twente is the 4/1 joint favourite to be the highest scoring game along with the Internazionale vs Werder Bremen game.

On a night that features Tottenham, Rangers and Manchester United, it is surprisingly the Red Devils that are the only team who are not odds-on to win their game. Tottenham are priced at 8/11, with Rangers 19/20. United on the other hand are offered at 7/4 away to Valencia.

“United are struggling at the moment and our punters are preferring to back Rangers and Spurs than put faith in the brittle United defence,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Champion’s League Odds:

19/20 Rangers; 16/5 Bursaspor; 11/5 Draw
8/11 Tottenham; 19/5 FC Twente; 13/5 Draw

15/1 Giant Killer Cup Replay

The stand out tie of the Carling Cup Fourth Round sees Arsenal travel to St. James’ Park to face Newcastle. Arsenal are the 8/11 favourites to progress to the next round.

The giant killers from the third round, Brentford and Northampton are up against it again, against Birmingham and Ipswich away respectively. The pair are 15/1 to repeat their third round heroics and progress to the Fifth Round.

Manchester United are the 2/1 favourites to lift the trophy, while Arsenal are 5/2 second favourites with Aston Villa 13/2.

“With some of the big names having already been dumped out of the competition already, Arsenal and United will be looking to get their hands on the first silverware of the season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Three Robertos Conjure Miracles To Keep Bookies Smiling

Bookies were celebrating as their fine start to the season continued with shocks and upsets all over the country. Arsenal losing at home to West Brom was the biggest shock of the weekend with almost 95% of punters on the game placing their wagers on an Arsenal victory. West Brom have also been eased to 9/4 from 11/8 for relegation following today’s result.

Despite losing for the first time this season, Chelsea are still the 10/11 favourites to win the Premier League this season with William Hill. Manchester City are 4/11 to finish in the top four with Arsenal priced at 1/6, Manchester United 1/25 and Chelsea 1/100.

“The three Robertos performed minor miracles today and we will be making sure that they are all put on our Christmas card list this year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Merseyside Misery
Liverpool’s disastrous start to the season continued, failing to win again, and Roy Hodgson’s odds of being the next manager out of a job have shortened from 10/1 to 8/1. Everton are now rooted to the bottom of the Premier League and David Moyes is just 15/2 to be the next manager to leave their club. At the start of the season, Hodgson was 28/1 and Moyes was 33/1 to be the first manager to go.

“At the start of the season, Moyes and Hodgson had two of the best reputations in the business. It could well be that they jump before they have their names dirtied by any more poor results,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Football Odds:

Can City Stop The Chelsea Scoring Machine?
WILLIAM HILL WEEKEND SPECIALS

With Chelsea having scored an incredible 21 goals in their first five Premier League games William Hill are offering 13/5 that Man City can end Chelsea’s winning streak by keeping a clean sheet. In what looks set to be a hotly contested affair, Hills also make the game the 11/2 favourite to be the match with the most cards this weekend. Should Wayne Bridge and John Terry play, Hills are offering 1/3 that the pair do not shake hands in a repeat of last season’s infamous snub.
