Squeaky Arsenal Time For Spurs As Gunners Close The Gap…bruce Backed For Wolves Job

Thomas Vermaelen won tonight’s game in the last minute and William Hill are offering 11/10 that they are the top London club at the end of the season with Spurs Even money and Chelsea 6/1. They are also 2/7 to finish in the top four, while Newcastle are 28/1 to taste Champions League football next season.

“Arsenal have come from behind to win in the last four games that they have played and are showing the grit, determination and quality that is needed at this stage of the season to achieve a top four position,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Robin van Persie scored yet another goal and William Hill are offering 2/1 that he beats Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s Premier League goal record of 34 goals in a season.

Chelsea To Go All Out For Victory…bruce And Hodgson Slashed For Wolves And England

Tuesday was a day for managerial moves as Steve Bruce became the 2/1 joint favourite to become the next permanent Wolves boss with Hills. Current caretaker boss, Terry Connor is the same price with Paul Ince the 12/1 third favourite. Meanwhile, Roy Hodgson was backed in from 14/1 to 4/1 second favourite to become the next England manager behind Harry Redknapp at 1/4.

“The constant stream of money that we have seen for Harry Redknapp has started to decrease as Spurs have found it increasingly difficult to win,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Coupled with Harry’s somewhat contradictory statements in regards to the England job we have started to see our punters look elsewhere, with Roy Hodgson well fancied.”

Chelsea are 2/1 to qualify for the next round of the Champions League, although Napoli are 4/11 to knock out the final British side left in the competition. The match is 25/1 to be decided on penalties. Roberto Di Matteo has won his first two matches in charge of Chelsea and he is 8/1 to become the next permanent boss.

Fernando Torres is still firing blanks for Chelsea but he is 6/5 to break his 2012 duck against Napoli, 2/1 to do so against Leicester, 7/1 Manchester City and 10/1 Tottenham. He is 11/10 to score in none of these four matches. Torres is 13/8 to have left Chelsea by the first day of next season (4/9 to still be there). Should Torres start against Napoli, he is odds on, at 8/13 to fail to finish the match.

“Chelsea will have to go all guns blazing in order to get an early goal to settle the nerves but given Torres’ recent form, he may not be the man to back to get the all important goal,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

A squirrel stopped play at Loftus road, becoming the second animal to do so this season and William Hill have paid out to any punters who backed that particular creature halting a Premier League game at 10/1. Hills have now reopened the market and have cat and dog as the 7/2 joint favourite. Squirrel is 4/1 with mouse or rat 9/1. Captain Scott Slashed For France Match…tevez Start Anytime Soon Could Be Stretch…mourinho Househunt Sparks 4/9 Gamble

Scott Parker is strongly rumoured to have been offered the England captain’s armband for tonight’s match vs Holland and this has seen his odds of captaining the Three Lions against France in the Euros slashed by William Hill. Having previously been 7/4 second favourite, he is now 11/8 joint favourite with Steven Gerrard (whose odds have drifted from 10/11).

“Stuart Pearce has reportedly made Scott Parker his captain, but he may not be in charge when the Euros roll around,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “A new manager may well have a very different opinion of who should lead the country.”

Carlos Tevez pulled on a Manchester City shirt for the first time since September (albeit for the reserves) and William Hill make him 1/8 to make an appearance for City at any point during the rest of the season (9/2 not to). He is 9/2 to feature at any point during the Bolton game this weekend, although he is 2/1 to fail to feature for the City senior team during the next five matches.

“Tevez looked somewhat distressed (as did the shirt that he had squeezed into) and he would appear to be a long way from match fitness,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Jose Mourinho has been spotted in the UK, sparking rumours that he is set for a return to the Premier League. William Hill make him 4/9 to no longer be in charge of Real Madrid by the first game of next season. He is 5/2 to become the next permanent Manchester United manager, 7/2 for Chelsea, 6/1 Tottenham and 14/1 Arsenal.

When will Tevez next play: 9/2 Bolton; 11/4 Swansea; 10/3 Chelsea; 4/1 Stoke; 6/1 Sunderland; 2/1 none of these fixtures

Carlos Tevez to play for Manchester City again: 1/8 yes; 9/2 no

Mourinho at Madrid on first game of next season: 13/8 yes; 4/9 no

Mourinho to be next permanent Arsenal manager: 14/1

Mourinho to be next permanent Manchester Utd Manager: 5/2

Mourinho to be next permanent Tottenham manager: 6/1

Mourinho to be next permanent Chelsea manager: 7/2

England captain for Euro 2012 game vs France: 11/8 Steven Gerrard; 11/8 Scott Parker; 4/1 Joe Hart; 10/1 Frank Lampard; 14/1 Gareth Barry; 20/1 Ashley Cole; 33/1 Rio Ferdinand

8/13 City/united Forecast…tevez May Be Kicking His Heels For Some While Yet

Manchester City made relatively light work of Blackburn and William Hill are offering 8/15 that they win the league. Their nearest rivals, Manchester United, are 13/8 to win the league. Hills are offering 8/13 for Manchester City to finish first with their rivals in second.

Carlos Tevez was nowhere to be seen as City lined up to face Blackburn and despite his apology, he may face a thankless task getting his old spot back seeing as Dzeko, Balotelli and Aguero all netted. William Hill are offering odds on when he will next don a City shirt and offer 11/4 that it is when they face Bolton on the 3rd March, 5/2 Swansea, 7/2 Chelsea, 5/1 Stoke and 11/2 Sunderland. He is 3/1 to take no part in any of these games. He is, however, 1/8 to play for City this season (9/2 not to).

“Tevez’s apology has paved the way for a return to action, but he may have to wait a while as there are three strikers ahead of him bang in form,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Tevez Backed To Return To City First Team

TEVEZ BACKED TO RETURN TO CITY FIRST TEAM

WILLIAM HILL have slashed their odds for Carlos Tevez to play for Manchester City in either the Premier League or Europa League before the end of this season from 5/4 to 4/7 after a flurry of bets. ‘Mancini appears to be softening his previous hard-line stance on Tevez and punters are taking that as a signal that he’ll be back in the side if he can prove his fitness, and betting accordingly’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills now offer 5/4 that Tevez will NOT play in another first team game this season.
