Torres Odds-on To Fill Drogba’s Boots, Hulk 4/1 To Do So

Didier Drogba has announced his intention to leave Chelsea and William Hill are betting on who will start Chelsea’s first game of next season and make Fernando Torres 1/2 to fill the Drogba shaped hole on Chelsea’s front line. Other names thrown into the mix are Lukaku 11/4, Hulk 4/1, Falcao and Cavani both 6/1, Llornete at 12/1 and Lavezzi 14/1.

“Drogba has been the big-Drog at Chelsea for the last eight years and whoever fills the gap has very big boots to fill and although Torres has struggled since moving to Chelsea, the odds suggest that he will be taking up the reins,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

United 4/9 To Maintain Five Point Gap At Top Of Table

The title race could take yet another twist on Sunday with both Manchester sides in action. William Hill are offering 14/1 that Manchester United win and Manchester City lose, leaving the Reds eight points ahead before their game next weekend. Hills also offer 10/1 that the opposite happens and Manchester City close the gap to just two points. The favourite is that United retain their five point gap (at 4/9) with United having the chance to win the Premier League at the home of their bitter rivals. Hills are go 5/2 that they do just that (2/7 they do not).

“Manchester United would surely love the opportunity to win the title at the Etihad, but in the same vein, City will be determined not to let that happen and the derby next week could hinge on the two games on Sunday,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Alex Ferguson talked about how he expects that Wayne Rooney will beat Bobby Charlton’s Manchester United goalscoring record and William Hill go 2/1 that he just that during his career (4/11 that doesn’t).

How many points will Manchester United be clear after this week’s round of Premier League fixtures: 10/1 two; 5/1 three; 50/1 four; 4/9 five; 50/1 six; 7/1 seven; 14/1 eight

1/16 Celtic Clinch The Title On Saturday

It’s been a long wait but it looks like the SPL
title will return to Celtic Park this weekend.
Celtic visit Rugby Park and only require a draw to
become Champions. Even if Celtic lose there
is still a chance the title will be theirs if Rangers
fail to win at St Mirren later that day. A defeat
for Celtic coupled with a Rangers win means they
they will need to wait another week and that’s a
7/1 chance

Celtic to Win the Title on Saturday 1/16
Celtic not to win the Title on Saturday 7/1

Rangers win at Fir Park last week puts them in
pole position to finish second in the SPL.

To Finish 2nd in SPL

Hibernian have now opened a gap over Dunfermline
at the foot of the table and it leaves the Pars with
an uphill task to stay in the SPL.

To Finish Bottom of SPL

Dunfermline 13/2

Jon Daly currently tops the SPL goalscoring chart
and he aims to be the first non Old Firm player
to finish ahead of the pack since Tommy Coyne of
Motherwell in 1995.

They are also 2/7 to finish in the top four, while Newcastle are 28/1 to taste Champions League football next season.

“Arsenal have come from behind to win in the last four games that they have played and are showing the grit, determination and quality that is needed at this stage of the season to achieve a top four position,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Robin van Persie scored yet another goal and William Hill are offering 2/1 that he beats Alan Shearer and Andy Cole’s Premier League goal record of 34 goals in a season.

Premier League Transfer Window: Sneijder In, Nasri Out

Premier League Transfer Window: Sneijder In, Nasri Out
William Hill took a £1000 bet late last night on Wesley Sneijder joining Manchester United and Hills have slashed his odds from 6/4 to 5/6 to join Sir Alex Ferguson’s side. He is now 5/6 to not join Manchester United.

“It is no secret that Sir Alex wants to find a replacement for Paul Scholes and has identified Sneijder as the man to fill the gap,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Our punters seem to be of the same opinion.”

Arsene Wenger has secured the services of Alex Oxlaide-Chamberlain and William Hill have cut the odds of Samir Nasri leaving the club from 6/4 to 1/2. Wenger has also claimed that his summer spending is not over and Hills offer 5/2 that he brings in two more players and 3/1 that he brings in three more.

How many more signings will Arsene Wenger bring in before the end of the summer transfer window: 4/1 none; 5/2 one; 5/2 two; 3/1 three; 6/1 four; 8/1 five or more

Samir Nasri to leave Arsenal before the end of the transfer window: 1/2 yes; 6/4 no

You Bet It’s Tie-t At The Top…premier League Specials

With Manchester United only managing a draw against Newcastle on Tuesday, Chelsea were able to close the gap at the top of the league to six points – level with Arsenal. William Hill think that with United still to play their two big rivals, there is an outside chance that there could be a tie at the top come the final day of the season. Hills offer 12/1 that two sides finish top with the same amount of points and 100/1 that three do.

“Manchester United and Arsenal have dropped points recently allowing Chelsea to get back into the title race,” said Hills spokesman Joe Crilly, “although a three way tie does not look very likely.”

Arsenal threw away yet another winning position against Tottenham on Wednesday and Hills are offering 7/1 that Arsenal lead against Bolton and fail to win.

How Many Sides Will Top The Table On The Last Day Of The Season: 1/50 Winner on points; 12/1 Two sides level on points; 100/1 Three level on points

William Hill…..TORRES NOW 3/1 TO FAIL TO SCORE THIS SEASON

Consigned to a bit part against Birmingham, Fernando Torres once again failed to find the net against Birmingham and William Hill have cut his odds from 7/2 to 3/1 to fail to score before the end of the season. He is 8/13 to bag his first goal against West Ham on Saturday.

“Nobody would have envisioned such a poor return from Torres and every game that goes by merely increases the chance of him failing to score before the end of the season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
