Will ‘ Marmite ‘ Lamps Light Up England ?

WILL LAMPS LIGHT UP ENGLAND AGAINST MONTENEGRO?

WILLIAM HILL are undecided about Frank Lampard’s chances of starting England’s vital Euro qualifier against Montenegro despite his weekend hat-trick, and offer 5/6 that Capello WILL start him, 5/5 that he WILL NOT. ‘Lampard is football Marmite at the moment – dividing opinion between those who believe he is still an integral part of the England starting line up, and those who believe he is past his international sell-by date’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. Hills make Lampard 10/3 to score if he does start. And 9/1 to get the opening goal of the game.
Hills are also betting on whether other named players will start and make Cahill 4/7 to do so, with Carroll 5/2.

Bookies Burned By Hottest Ever October!

The hottest ever October record temperature was broken on the first day of the month and bookmakers William Hill have been stung by an Indian Summer betting bonanza by meteorological punters. The odds of this month seeing the all time record of 29.4C (1985) had been backed in, all the way from 6/4 to 8/11 by the time that betting ceased at midnight on the 30th September.

“The previous record was officially confirmed as having been smashed just after one o’clock and Hills forked out a five figure sum to eager punters – no doubt on their way to buy burgers and bangers for a final Barbie of the year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We must have been the only people in the country praying for wind and rain.”

“Not even our Irish punters are rushing to back the Hoops and are more inclined to think there will be a Shamrock Shambles rather than a Rampant Rovers at White Hart Lane,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Last time round, all three Premier League teams secured draws and Hills are offering 250/1 that all three do so again on Thursday.

Brit Backers Denied Once Again As Last Minute Pen Secures Draw

A last minute Valencia penalty denied Brit backers a Champions League double tonight. William Hill offer 11/8 that Manchester United are the furthest progressing British side and depite their draw, Chelsea are 9/4 second favourites.

“English punters will have been disappointed by the collective capitulation of both Manchester City and United, and Chelsea’s last minute concession will have done little to lighten the mood ,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Hills are offering 5/1 that there is an all British final in this year’s Champions League.

All of the pre game talk before the Chelsea game in Valencia revolved around Frank Lampard and he will have done no damage to his (purported) ‘diminishing’ career by bagging Chelsea’s only goal at the Estadio Mestalla. Hills go 3/1 about him starting England’s game against Montenegro next month.

Furthest progressing Brit side: 11/8 Man Utd; 9/4 Chelsea; 3/1 Man City; 6/1 Arsenal

Let’s Be Frank, Lampard’s Not Past It Yet…who Next For Mega-rich Russians?

Frank Lampard bagged a goal for Chelsea against Valencia and William Hill offer 1/2 that he starts Chelsea’s match against Bolton this weekend. He is 6/4 not to. His performance will have made Fabio Capello sit up and take notice although he is odds on to fail to start England’s next game against Montenegro at 4/11. Frank is 2/1 to take his place on the pitch at Wembley next month.

“Frank has shown his critics that he is not past it just yet and he may well have a major role to play over the next couple of months for club and country,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

In Russia, mega-rich club side, Anzhi Makhachkala have dispensed of their manager and with a veritable who’s who of world football being looked at by the cub, William Hill make current captain, Roberto Carlos the 2/1 favourite to get the job on a permanent basis. Tevez On The Move In January…4/9 Never To Start For City Again

Carlos Tevez has attempted to build bridges with Roberto Mancini but William Hill do not think that his excuses will fly with the City boss and make the former captain 4/9 to fail to start a single game for City in the Premier League this season. His exit from City would appear to be edging ever closer and Hills make Juventus the 11/4 favourites to be the next side to capture his signature. He is 4/1 to sign for Corinthians, while he is 6/1 to join either Inter or AC Milan.

“Tevez appears to have made his bed and City will now be desperate to get rid of him,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It would seem that he will not feature in a City starting XI ever again and Turin may be his most likely destination.”

Carlos Tevez:

To start a Premier League game for Manchester City: 13/8 yes; 4/9 no

Next Club: 11/4 Juventus; 4/1 Corinthians; 6/1 AC Milan; 6/1 Inter Milan; 7/1 Real Madrid; 8/1 PSG; 12/1 Napoli; 16/1 Chelsea; 20/1 Arsenal; 20/1 Barcelona; 25/1 Boca Juniors…(others on request, loan deals count)

Manchester Misery In Champions League…tevez Tantrum Means 11/4 To Not Start All Season

Both sides of Manchester failed to win in the Champions League and William Hill are offering 9/1 that both fail to qualify for the knock out rounds of the competition. City have now failed to win in two matches and are 7/4 to now finish third in Group A with top spot a drifting 9/2. Carlos Tevez refused to come off the bench and play for City in Munich and Hills offer 11/4 that he does not start another Premier League game for City this season.

“A disappointing evening was rounded off by Tevez refusing to come off the bench and the odds suggest that Mancini may well have finally lost patience with City’s former captain,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Despite the setback at Old Trafford, Manchester United are the 13/8 favourites to progress the furthest of all the British sides in this year’s Champions League. An all Manchester Final is 40/1.
