1/8 For Balotelli To Receive Retrospective Ban

Mario Baolotelli could well face retrospective action after appearing to stamp on the head of Scott Parker. Bookmakers, William Hill, are offering odds of 1/8 that Balotelli receives a four match ban from the FA and 9/2 that he does not. With Balotelli already having one red card to his name, William Hill are odds on, at 4/7 that he does not receive another this season, although he is 9/4 to get one more red card and 7/2 to get two or more.

“Balotelli is a volatile character and is always likely to be in the headlines but we think that while it is likely that he will receive a ban this time around, it could be the shot in the arm that turns his season around,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Will Balotelli receive a ban relating to Scott Parker Incident on Sunday: 1/8 yes; 9/2 no

Balotelli Red cards this season (only includes red cards shown on pitch and not retrospective bans): 4/7 one; 9/4 two; 7/2 three or more

Newcastle Odds On Not To Find Ground Sponsor

ASHLEY ODDS-ON TO FAIL TO FIND ST JAMES’ SPONSOR!

WITH MIKE ASHLEY SET TO SELL naming rights to Newcastle’s St James’ Park, bookmakers William Hill have opened a book on whether those rights will actually be sold, and what the ground will be known as.
Hills believe it is unlikely that a stadium name sponsor will come forward and offer 4/7 that the ground name has either NOT changed at all by the first day of next season, or is still known as the Sports Direct Arena.
‘It is one thing putting the naming rights up for grabs, another getting the right deal – and Mr Ashley could conceivably even have changed his mind and sold the club by then’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hill’s make Tesco the most likely sponsor’s name to be added to the ground name, quoting the supermarket chain at 10/1, and also offering:
O2 – 12/1
Northern Rock 20/1
Greggs 33/1
Newcastle Brown 33/1
NE Tourism 50/1
Newcastle Building Society 50/1
Compare The Meerkat/Market 66/1

Cheryl Cole 100/1
UK Coal 100/1

Bookies Cheer Anfield Stalemate, United 12/1 To Remain Unbeaten All Season

A hard fought battle at Anfield ended in a draw and Manchester United maintained their unbeaten start to the season. William Hill were impressed with the Red Devil’s resilience and make United 12/1 to remain undefeated all season.

“Much like last season, United have had a flying start to the season but this season they appear much harder to break down,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “The unbeaten season is starting to look more and more possible.”

A draw was a fantastic result for bookmakers, with Hill’s having taken a reasonable six figure sum on their highest turnover match of the season.

“Most people watching the game would have had an opinion one way or another and the draw was the perfect result to set up our weekend,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Odds:

When will Manchester United next lose: 2/1 Manchester City; 4/1 Everton; 14/1 Sunderland; 14/1 Swansea; 8/1 Newcastle; 6/4 none of these

12/1 Manchester United to remain undefeated all season

Three Lionesses Backed For Win Against France

England’s Women progressed through to the Quarter Final of the World Cup and bookmakers, William Hill, make them 9/5 to defeat France in the next round. Les Bleus are 6/5 slight favourites but despite this, Hope Powell’s recruits have been well backed by punters with over 60% of all bets being staked on them to win. Should the game go beyond the 90 minutes, Hills are offering 12/1 that England win in extra time and 11/1 they win on penalties.

England are relative outsiders to go on and win the competition, offered at 20/1, quite a way behind favourites, Germany, at 5/6 and Brazil at 7/2. The Three Lionesses are 8/13 to be knocked out at the Quarter Final stage and 6/5 to qualify for the Semis.

“England were very much improved against Japan while the French side are coming into the game on the back of a heavy defeat to Germany and our punters are backing them to come good,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England’s Kelly Smith came into the tournament as the Golden Girl of the team, however, she has failed to find the net once during the tournament and has been backed by Hill’s punters NOT to score during the remaining games. Originally offered at 8/11 not to do so, she has been backed into 4/6, but she is 11/10 to get off the mark.

Outright: 5/6 Germany; 7/2 Brazil; 13/2 USA; 14/1 Sweden; 16/1 France; 20/1 Japan; 20/1 England; 50/1 Australia

Stage of Elimination: 8/13 Quarter Final; 5/2 Semi Final; 9/2 Runner Up; 20/1 Winner

England v France (qualification): 6/5 England; 8/13 France

To win in extra time: 12/1 England; 11/1 France

To win on penalties: 11/1 England; 10/1 France

Shear Relief As Big Al Cardiff Gamble Goes Astray

SHEAR RELIEF FOR BOOKIES AS ALAN TURNS DOWN CARDIFF

AFTER A hefty gamble encompassing a stream of bets from Ireland to Australia, bookmakers William Hill were relieved as Alan Shearer decided against taking the Cardiff job, having been backed down from 10/1 to 1/8 to be appointed.
‘It appears this was a very well informed gamble – with an ill informed outcome!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘Shearer was backed off the boards as big money came in for him, starting in Cork, moving to south west London and finally becoming international as we saw a four figure Australian gamble – it looked like we’d been set up for a fall, but we are relieved to have dodged the financial bullet’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Shearer is now 10/1 with Hills to get the Birimingham job.

WILLIAM HILL now make Malky Mackay 8/11 favourite to become the next Cardiff manager with Mark Robins 5/1; Chris Hughton 7/1 and Alan Shearer 8/1 -‘a precautionary price should one or other side change its mind!’ – 10/1 Billy Davies; 12/1 Ian Holloway.

HILLS…NEXT VILLA BOSS…1/6 McLeish; 9/2 Hughes; 10/1 Moyes; 20 Coyle; Poyet; Rijkaard.

HILL… NEXT BIRMINGHAM BOSS….2/1 Hughton; Cotterill; 7/2 Davies; 4/1 Di Matteo; 6/1 Zola.10/1 Shearer.

Wl Corks Be Popping For Shearer ?

WILL SHEARER BE POPPING CORKS TO CELEBRATE CARDIFF JOB?

A GAMBLE which began in Cork has catapulted Alan Shearer into the position of second favourite to become the next Cardiff manager with bookmakers William Hill who have slashed his odds from 10/1 to 6/4.
‘We began to see bets for Shearer on Monday night and soon noticed that almost all of them – and they were for up to 200 euros a time- were coming from the Cork area. We reduced the odds but the bets continued to come in and eventually we began to see money from other areas. The gamble has continued on Tuesday morning and we wouldn’t be surprised to see Shearer become favourite over Malky Mackay very shortly’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

8/1 Hodgson To Return To Craven Cottage…or Will Banksy Hijacko Wacko?

Following the unveiling of Fulham’s rather bizarre Michael Jackson statue, bookmakers William Hill are betting on what will happen first to the effigy. Hills offer 6/1 that a pot of paint is thrown over it, while 8/1 is on offer for somebody to put a Roy Hodgson mask over Jacko’s face. Hills offer 20/1 that Banksy decorates the statue and 25/1 that his microphone is replaced by an umbrella.

“To say that the statue has not gone down well, would be an understatement and it would come as no surprise if somebody did decorate it in their own special way,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

What Will Happen To The Michael Jackson Statue:
6/1 Pot of paint thrown over it
8/1 Roy Hodgson mask put on it
10/1 Fulham shirt to be put on it
12/1 Glove hand to be chopped off
14/1 Chelsea shirt to be put on it
16/1 Head chopped off
20/1 For Banksy to ‘decorate’ the statue
25/1 To have the microphone replaced by an umbrella
