That’s Rich: Luka 9/4 To Turn Out For Big Spending United

News reports are suggesting that Manchester United are set to make a move for Spurs playmaker Luka Modric and William Hill are offering a market on who will start in midfield for the Reds on the first day of next season. Paul Scholes and new signing, Shinji Kagawa, are 4/7 with Ryan Giggs 8/11 to start. With Modric not confirmed as a Manchester United player yet, he is just 9/4 to take to the pitch in a United shirt on day one of the 2012/13 season.

“After just missing out on the title this season, United are aiming to come back with a bang and the signings of Kagawa and Modric certainly indicate their intentions right at the start of the summer,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

David Beckham, Craig Bellamy and Ryan Giggs are reportedly the three over 23 players named in Stuart Pearce’s Olympic squad and Hills now make David Beckham the 1/3 favourite to wear the armband in the first game. Bellamy is the 5/1 second favourite with Giggs 6/1.

“All three players have worn international armbands in the past and all three will be leaders on the pitch but it looks like Becks will lead the side out,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

To start for Manchester United next season:

1/3 Michael Carrick (9/4 not to)
4/7 Paul Scholes (5/4 not to)
4/7 Shinji Kagawa (5/4 not to)
8/11 Ryan Giggs (1/1 not to)
6/4 Tom Cleverley (1/2 not to)
6/4 Ji-Sung Park (1/2 not to)
9/4 Luka Modric (1/3 not to)
5/2 Darren Fletcher (2/7 not to)
9/2 Paul Pogba (1/8 not to)

Who will be Team GB in the first group game: 1/3 David Beckham; 5/1 Craig Bellamy; 6/1 Ryan Giggs

Martinez 5/2 To Take The Crown From King Kenny

It appears likely that Kenny Dalglish will step down as manager of Liverpool today and William Hill make in-demand Wigan boss, Roberto Martinez, the 5/2 favourite to be the next boss at Anfield. Dalglish’s number two, Steve Clarke is 4/1 with Hills who also offer 5/1 Benitez, 7/1 Brendan Rodgers; 12/1 Martin O’Neill, 14/1 Andre Villas Boas and 16/1 about both Mourinho and Carlos Ancelotti.

“Despite his second stint in charge of Liverpool not quite being as successful as his first, he still remains a legend in Liverpool and his boots will be very big ones to fill,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next Liverpool Manager: 5/2 Roberto Martinez; 4/1 Steve Clarke; 5/1 Rafael Benitez; 7/1 Brendan Rodgers; 12/1 Martin O’Neill; 14/1 Andre Villas-Boas; 16/1 Jose Mourinho; 16/1 Carlo Ancelotti; 20/1 Didier Deschamps; 20/1 Marcello Lippi; 20/1 Jurgen Klinsmann; 20/1 Paul Lambert; 25/1 BAR

RUDDY HELL! JOHN BACKED TO BE ON PLANE TO POLAND

John Ruddy, the Norwich City goalkeeper, has been backed in from 5/1 to 1/5 to make the England squad with Scott Carson’s price going the other way from 10/11 to 2/1 and David Stockdale’s going from 10/11 to 4/1.

“John Ruddy had a fantastic season, at some points singlehandedly keeping Norwich in matches and there has been quite a clamour in the last 24 hours to back him for a deserved England call up,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

With Scott Parker struggling with injury, William Hill have also cut his odds of not going to the Euros from 12/1 to 7/2. Paul Scholes could be the man to profit if Scott Parker does not make the squad, with Hills making him 6/4 for a sensational return to the England fold (1/2 he is not). Regardless of whether he makes the England squad, Scholes is 5/2 to start the game against France at the Euros (he is 2/7 not to).

CHAMPIONS SET TO GO OUT ROBIN & RAID ARSENAL AGAIN!

Manchester City have earmarked Robin van Persie as their number one summer target and William Hill offer 8/11 that the current Premier League Player of the Year has left Arsenal by the start of next season (Even money he is still there).

William Hill are offering 6/4 that Joey Barton’s ban, stemming from his incredible lack of self control against Manchester City, is 12 or more games (1/2 it is shorter).

“We were originally offering 5/6 that Joey’s ban would be shorter than eight games, but that was backed off the boards and so we had to bump up the number of games to 12,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

United 1/3 For The League and 4/1 To Do So By Seven Or More Points

Manchester United moved three points clear of Manchester City and William Hill make the Red Devils 1/3 to win the League, with City 9/4. Having moved three points clear, Hills are now offering a market on how many points they win the League by. They are 9/4 to fail to win the League and 11/2 to win the league on goal difference. They are 11/4 to win by one to three points and the same price to win by four to six points. They are 4/1 to win the League by seven or more points.

“United rode their luck a little bit against Fulham and that is the kind of thing they will have to do from time to time if they are to win the League,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “The difference between United and City at the moment is that neither side are playing vintage football, but United are still winning and that is tilting the balance in their favour.”

United had a number of players on the pitch tonight who will be hoping to be going to the Euros with England, with Rio Ferdinand one of many who had a solid game. He is 8/11 to be on the plane (Evens not to). Phil Jones is 1/3 to go, Smalling 8/11 and Danny Welbeck 1/5. Paul Scholes is 4/1 to make the squad after he came on to replace Wayne Rooney.

CITY’S HOPES OF GOAL SCORING RECORD ON THE WANE
William Hill have lengthened their odds for Manchester City to set a new scoring record in the Premier League by netting 104 or more goals during the season and now go 6/4 from 5/6 and make them 1/2 to miss out on the record.

“The early season goal rush seems to have dried up somewhat in recent games”, said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
William Hill, who now make Man City 7/1 to remain undefeated for the remainder of the Premier League season, offer 5/6 that they will win the title with their great local rivals United as runners up. ‘Spurs’ slip up at the weekend and City beating Wigan has handed the advantage to the two Manchester clubs’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
City are now 1/2 favourites to win the title with Hills who go 5/2 United; 10 Spurs; 25 Chelsea; 80 Arsenal.
WIGAN ARE NOW 4/11 FROM 2/5 TO GO DOWN WITH Hills WHO MAKE THEM 2/1 TO STAY UP.

Hills also offer 5/2 about him playing in a Premier League game during the 2012/13 season for United. ‘Scholes’ unexpected comeback is likely to be short-lived if United get their full squad available, but it has certainly created a lively betting interest and he was well backed at 11/2 to score against City.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
