You Bet ‘arry Could Be The Man To Make Torres Tick

Harry Redknapp is the Even money favourite to be the next Chelsea manager in the wake of a massive overnight gamble. Having started out as a 25/1 shot, he was backed all the way in to 6/1 by yesterday afternoon. By last night he was 5/2 and the money did not stop there, with numerous three figure bets being placed as far afield as Johannesburg.

“There is no smoke without fire and the weight of this gamble would suggest that a decision may be imminent,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Guus Hiddink is the 3/1 second favourite with Hills, while Marco van Basten is 4/1.

Next Chelsea Manager (Hills odds): 1/1 Harry Redknapp; 3/1 Guus Hiddink; 4/1 Marco van Basten; 13/2 Andre Villas Boas; 7/1 Pep Guardiola; 10/1 Mark Hughes; 16/1 Frank Rijkaard; 16/1 Rafa Benitez; 20/1 BAR

Will Play-Off Sides Pay The Penalty?
Stevenage and Huddersfield are clear favourites for their respective Play-Off final matches, however, bookmakers William Hill cannot separate Swansea and Reading in the Championship match. Stevenage are 7/5 to win against Torquay while Huddersfield are 13/10 to overcome Peterborough. Swansea and Reading however, are both priced at 6/4 to win in 90 minutes on Monday.

Hills are also offering a number of specials for this Bank Holiday weekend’s Play-Off action and make Huddersfield vs Peterborough the 10/11 favourite to be the highest scoring game of the three. No Play-Off weekend would be complete without the agony of a penalty shootout and Hills offer 13/8 that one of the games goes the distance and 66/1 that all three go to penalties.

“The betting indicates that all three of the games will be tight and it would not be surprising to see at least one of the games suffer the agony of a spot kick lottery”, said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Champions League Final: You Bet History Can Repeat Itself

William Hill think that history may well repeat itself and offer odds on all previous Manchester United European Final victories. In 1968, Manchester United won the European Cup Final at Wembley by four goals to one and Hills offer 100/1 that United defeat Barca by the same score this weekend. In 1999, they came back from 1-0 down to triumph and Hills offer 14/1 that United come from behind and win within 90 minutes. 2008 saw United beat Chelsea on penalties and for the same to happen on Saturday is 11/1.

United also lost a Champions League Final in 2009 2-0 to Barcelona and Hills offer 8/1 for a repeat of that score line.

“In such a hotly contested match between two European heavyweights there is a strong feeling that we may see history repeating itself in one way or another,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

MANCHESTER UNITED are the longest odds they have been all season to win a game in 90minutes play as they prepare to take on Barcelona in the Champions League, with Hills offering them at 3/1 to clinch victory without having to worry about extra time or a penalty shot-out. Barca are 21/20 for a 90min win with the draw 21/10.

**ONE WILLIAM HILL ONLINE CLIENT FROM BOLTON HAS STAKED FIVE BETS, TOTALLING £80,000 ON BARCA LIFTING THE TROPHY AT ODDS OF 1/2 and Hills expect that industry wide, the Champions League Final will generate around £10 million turnover.

Champions League Final Odds:

Outright (90 minutes): 21/20 Barcelona; 3/1 Manchester United; 21/10 Draw

To Lift The Trophy: 1/2 Barcelona; 13/8 Manchester United

To go to penalties: 5/1

MVP (Messi, Villa & Pedro all to score): 25/1

Wilshere Or Carroll 11/2 To Still Play In Denmark Despite Being Left Out

Jack Wilshere and Andy Carroll have been left out of Stuart Pearce’s England U21 squad. William Hill have shortened the odds of Spain winning the tournament slightly from 5/2 to 9/4. England are 4/1 and Czech Republic are 11/2. Hills offer 11/2 that either Andy Carroll or Jack Wilshere take part in the tournament in Denmark, either due to withdrawal or injury.

Despite his fears of burning out after a tough season, Wilshere has been included in Capello’s squad to face Switzerland and he is 4/7 to start the match. England are 1/3 to win the match, while Switzerland are 6/1 to win and 10/3 to force the draw.

“Wilshere and Carroll have been left out of England’s squad after tough seasons and this has improved Spain’s chances of winning the U21 European Championships,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Odds:

U21 European Championships Outright: 9/4 Spain; 4/1 England; 11/2 Czech Republic; 7/1 Denmark; 8/1 Switzerland; 9/1 Iceland; 10/1 Ukraine; 20/1 Belarus

England/Switzerland: 1/3 England; 6/1 Switzerland; 10/3 Draw

Either Andy Carroll OR Jack Wilshere To Play In U21 European Championships: 11/2 Yes; 1/10 No

Jack Wilshere to start vs. Switzerland: 4/7 yes; 5/4 no

Heavy Gamble On Bluebird To Become A Hammer

Dave Jones has been cut from 10/1 to 6/4 to be the new West Ham boss, by William Hill. He has been the subject of a massive gamble over the space of an hour and has pushed other contenders such as Chris Hughton and Sam Allardyce out to 10/3 and 4/1 respectively.

“Dave Jones has gone from relative outsider to frontrunner in the space of 20 minutes and the gamble would suggest that he is, as reported, the number one target to replace Avram Grant,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Next Permanent West Ham Manager (William Hill Odds): 6/4 Dave Jones; 10/3 Chris Hughton; 4/1 Sam Allardyce; 9/1 Alex McLeish; 14/1 Neil Warnock; 14/1 Martin O’Neill; 14/1 Paul Lambert; 14/1 Chris Coleman; 16/1 Kevin Keen; 16/1 Ian Holloway; 16/1 Malky MacKay; 20/1 BAR

E V E N S Man City To Win In 90 Minutes

EVEN MONEY CITY – BUT GET UP EARLY!

WILLIAM HILL are offering a rival-beating EVEN money for Manchester City to beat Stoke in 90minutes this afternoon. Hills also offer 7/2 Stoke and 11/5 the draw, while City to win to nil in 90m is a 5/2 chance. ‘We’re taking City on big-time and at Even money for a 90minute win, don’t expect to see that price beaten – unlike our Odds Compilers, should that result come to pass!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe. ‘We’ll be facing a seven figure hammering if City get the job done in 90minutes.’
