Fa Cup Latest From Official Betting Partner Of The Cup

William Hill, the official betting partner and an official supporter if the FA Cup, have priced up some of the match ups and unsurprisingly make both Liverpool and Chelsea 1/16 shots to qualify from their ties. Hills offer 1/8 that the final is contested between two Premier League sides, 100/1 that no Premier League sides make it and 9/2 that one does.

With Stevenage and Crawley both making it into the draw for the fifth round, Hills are offering 5/6 that Stevenage concede more goals in their match against Tottenham than Crawley do in their match against Stoke.

“Crawley and Stevenage are going to be up against it, but the only thing predictable about the outcome of the FA Cup is that it is so unpredictable and we could see a couple of the proverbial banana skins,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

“I am really looking forward to the Liverpool/Brighton match as both sides play a similar brand of football and after the way that Brighton played against Newcastle, Liverpool could be in for a tricky tie,” said Gaizka Mendieta, speaking exclusively to William Hill.

Mendieta also selected a treble for William Hill picking Liverpool, Chelsea and Crawley Town all to qualify and Hills offer 17/10 that his predictions come true.

Note to editors: Hills are also providing a copy of ball number nine (Stevenage) being drawn by Gaizka Mendieta

All Shook Up Over Handshake Decision

PUNTERS AND BOOKIES ALL SHOOK UP BY BY NO HANDSHAKE DECISION

WILLIAM HILL have voided all bets in their market on whether Anton Ferdinand and John Terry would or would not shake hands in the pre-match handshake before the QPR-Chelsea game. ‘As the official pre-match handshake was cancelled, all bets have been voided as there was no opportunity for the subject of the wager to take place’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills opened the market at 4/6 that they would shake; 11/10 they would not. It closed at 2/1 they would, 4/11 they would not.

How Long Will Crawley’s Cup Run Continue?

Only two matches went to replays of Saturday’s FA Cup ties and William Hill make Southampton the 4/11 favourites to qualify from their tie against Millwall, while Hills cannot split Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool, offering 5/6 about the pair qualifying.

The biggest result, however, was Crawley’s 1-0 victory away to Hull and Hills are offering odds on when the Red Devils get knocked out of the competition offering 2/9 that they do so in the fifth round. They are 300/1 to go all the way and win the trophy and 125/1 to finish as runners up.

“Crawley are repeating the feats that took them so far last season and while they have captured the imagination of the FA Cup this year, we think they may well come a cropper in the next round,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

You Bet Olympic Saga Could Be Sorted Soon…

West Ham are allegedly growing frustrated with the lack of movement on the Olympic Stadium front. William Hill think that any problems should be sorted out by 2015, offering 2/7 that any team (in any professional division) is playing or has played a full season of home league matches at the Olympic Stadium by 2015.

“The Olympic Stadium saga has been running for quite a while now, but we think that once the Olympics are out of the way, the Stadium issue will become number one priority and should be sorted relatively quickly,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly

1/8 For Balotelli To Receive Retrospective Ban

Mario Baolotelli could well face retrospective action after appearing to stamp on the head of Scott Parker. Bookmakers, William Hill, are offering odds of 1/8 that Balotelli receives a four match ban from the FA and 9/2 that he does not. With Balotelli already having one red card to his name, William Hill are odds on, at 4/7 that he does not receive another this season, although he is 9/4 to get one more red card and 7/2 to get two or more.

“Balotelli is a volatile character and is always likely to be in the headlines but we think that while it is likely that he will receive a ban this time around, it could be the shot in the arm that turns his season around,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

4/1 For Frank To Join Becks At Galaxy

LA Galaxy Chief, Tim Leiweke, has confirmed that he would be interested in making a move for Frank Lampard and William Hill think that a potential reunion with David Beckham could well be on the cards. He is 4/1 to leave Chelsea at the end of the season and move to the MLS champions.

“Any move for Frank to LA would be dependent on one of, designated players, Landon Donovan, Robbie Keane or David Beckham departing,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It would also depend on what the future Mrs. Lampard would think about moving to America.”
