Hatem Has Arfa Chance Of Getting Goal Of The Season…is Motd’s Dream Team On The Way Out?

Hatem Ben Arfa scored one of the goals of the season for Newcastle against Bolton on Monday although William Hill think that his effort still falls some way behind Peter Crouch’s effort vs Manchester City. Crouch is 4/7 to win Match of the Day’s annual Goal of the season competition, with Ben Arfa 6/1. Hills also offer 15/8 about any other goal winning the accolade.

“With Ben Arfa and a couple of screamers from Robin van Persie this season, there is nothing to say it is a Crouchy certainty, but he has set quite the benchmark,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

With rumours suggesting that the current Match of the Day ‘dream team’ of Lineker, Lawrenson and Hansen may be squeezed out to make way for younger blood, Hills are offering 7/1 that none of them return to the studio next season, it is however, 4/9 that they all return.

2/1 For Balotelli AND Mancini To Have Left By Next Season

Hills are offering 2/1 that both Mancini and Balotelli will have left Manchester City by the start of next season, 1/1 that just one of them will still be there and 9/4 that they are both still there.

They also offer 4/7 that Mancini will still be there (5/4 he has gone) and 8/13 that Balotelli has gone (6/5 he is still there).

“Mancini has shown his forgiving side in dealing with Carlos Tevez, but Balotelli may well have pushed his manager over the edge,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Match of the Day Goal of the Season: 4/7 Peter Crouch; 6/1 Hatem Ben Arfa; 15/8 Any other player

How many of Lineker, Hansen and Lawrenson will be on MOTD next season: 7/1 none; 2/1 one or two; 4/9 three

Top goalscorer: 1/7 Robin van Persie; 4/1 Wayne Rooney

Top four finish: 1/14 Arsenal; 8/15 Tottenham; 7/4 Chelsea; 10/3 Newcastle

Winner without Manchester United and Manchester City: 1/6 Arsenal; 4/1 Tottenham; 10/1 Chelsea; 20/1 Newcastle

Will Mancini and Balotelli still be at Manchester City next season: 2/1 both gone; 9/4 both still there; 1/1 One gone

Balotelli still at Manchester City at the start of next season: 8/13 yes; 6/5 no

Mancini still at Manchester City at the start of next season: 4/7 yes; 5/4 no

LMA Manager of the Year: 6/4 Alan Pardew; 13/8 Brendan Rodgers; 7/2 Paul Lambert; 11/1 David Moyes; 12/1 Sir Alex Ferguson; 33/1 Harry Redknapp; 33/1 Roy Hodgson; 33/1 Steve Kean; 40/1 BAR

United 1/3 For The League And 4/1 To Do So By Seven Or More Points

United 1/3 For The League and 4/1 To Do So By Seven Or More Points

Manchester United moved three points clear of Manchester City and William Hill make the Red Devils 1/3 to win the League, with City 9/4. Having moved three points clear, Hills are now offering a market on how many points they win the League by. They are 9/4 to fail to win the League and 11/2 to win the league on goal difference. They are 11/4 to win by one to three points and the same price to win by four to six points. They are 4/1 to win the League by seven or more points.

“United rode their luck a little bit against Fulham and that is the kind of thing they will have to do from time to time if they are to win the League,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “The difference between United and City at the moment is that neither side are playing vintage football, but United are still winning and that is tilting the balance in their favour.”

United had a number of players on the pitch tonight who will be hoping to be going to the Euros with England, with Rio Ferdinand one of many who had a solid game. He is 8/11 to be on the plane (Evens not to). Phil Jones is 1/3 to go, Smalling 8/11 and Danny Welbeck 1/5. Paul Scholes is 4/1 to make the squad after he came on to replace Wayne Rooney.

William Hill Odds:

Premier League outright: 1/3 Manchester United; 9/4 Manchester City; 200/1 Arsenal

To make Euro 2012 squad

Michael Carrick – 3/1 (2/9 no)
Chris Smalling – 8/11 (EVS no)

Phil Jones – 1/3 (9/4 no)
Rio Ferdinand – 8/11 (EVS no)
Tom Cleverley – 3/1 (2/9 no)
Paul Scholes – 4/1 (1/7 no)

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on how many goals England’s top scorer in the Euro finals will score and make THREE their 2/1 favourite, with TWO a 9/4 chance and ONE, the ‘winner’ in the last World Cup, a 7/2 shot. ‘Whoever manages the side in the Euros will need to prioritise his strikers pretty quickly as, at the moment, there are several contenders to start up front in the opening game to stake a claim for a permanent place in the side’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Dutch Courage For Youngsters Ahead Of Replacing Rooney And Bent At Euros

England face Holland on Wednesday and with the Dutch two places higher in the FIFA rankings than England, William Hill offer 4/6 that they progress further in Euro 2012 than England (11/10 vice versa). England are 8/1 to win the tournament, but are 2/1 to go out in the group stages and the same price to go out in the quarter finals.

Darren Bent has been confirmed as being out for three months and William Hill are offering 1/2 that Theo Walcott starts against France, 5/6 Daniel Sturridge does, 11/10 Danny Welbeck and 5/1 Adam Johnson.

“With Wayne Rooney out of the first two games and now the natural replacement, Darren Bent, potentially being out of the whole tournament, the goalscoring burden may now rest on the very young collective shoulders of Walcott, Sturridge and Welbeck,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Harry Redknapp remains in the driving seat to become the next England manager (4/9) and is odds on, at 1/2 to be in charge of them during the European Championships. Stuart Pearce is 2/1 with any other manager offered at 7/1. England are 12/1 to win the Euros under Redknapp, 25/1 to do so under Pearce and 50/1 to lift the trophy under any other manager.

Robin van Persie will undoubtedly be looking to continue his rich vein of form at Wembley and Hills make him 4/1 to outscore England when they meet on Wednesday and he is 5/1 to outscore England for the whole of the tournament in the summer.

England to win Euro 2012 under Harry Redknapp: 12/1

Scholes To See Red During Comeback

SCHOLES 7/2 TO SEE RED ON RETURN

WILLIAM HILL offer 7/2 that Paul Scholes will be sent off during any competitive game this season following his return to Man U colours – and Hills are betting on how many starts he’ll make in the Premier League, amking 0-3 their 10/11 favourite, while he is 8/15 to fail to score in the Premier League this season. Hills also offer 5/2 about him playing in a Premier League game during the 2012/13 season for United. ‘Scholes’ unexpected comeback is likely to be short-lived if United get their full squad available, but it has certainly created a lively betting interest and he was well backed at 11/2 to score against City.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

The Million Man: Barton’s Tweet Is Looking Sweet

Joey Barton breached the million follower mark and William Hill are offering 10/1 that he manages to overtake the two kings of English football tweeting, Wayne Rooney and Rio Ferdinand, by the end of the season. He is 5/2 to overtake one of them and 1/3 to fail to overtake either of them. Given his propensity to controversial tweeting, Hills are offering 11/4 that he is banned from tweeting by QPR before the end of the season.

“Joey’s twitter feed, which spans from philosophy, through football banter and so-called ‘TOWIE bashing’, is proving incredibly popular and its diversity could help in making it the number one Twitter footy feed by the end of the season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “He just has to make sure that he is not too controversial otherwise his club may force him to quit.”

Banned from tweeting by the end of the season by QPR: 11/4 yes; 1/4 no

To overtake Rio Ferdinand or Wayne Rooney in Twitter followers by the end of the season: 1/3 neither; 5/2 one; 10/1 both
