You Bet Relegation Changes Will Be Booted Into Row Z

Controversial changes regarding the potential elimination of relegation from the Premier League do not look likely to be introduced anytime soon according to William Hill. The bookies offer 10/1 that relegation is abolished before the start of the 2016/17 season and go 11/2 that the number of teams relegated from the Premier League each season is reduced from three by the same date.

“These proposed changes have not gone down well at all with supporters of non-Premier League clubs and we think that the FA will share these concerns and veto any approach to eliminate relegation,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Relegation Specials:

Premier League relegation to be reduced from three before the start of the 2016/17 season: 11/2 yes; 1/10 no

Goldenballs’ Golden Dream Could Spark Move To Paris

David Beckham helped the LA Galaxy to the MLS play-offs but William Hill think that he will leave when his contract runs out at the end of November. He is 2/7 to not sign a new contract at Los Angeles and Hills think that he could be on his way to PSG, with the French giants offered at 4/7 to be Beckham’s next club.

Beckham has stipulated that he needs to move somewhere where he will be playing first team football in order to get into the GB national squad for London 2012. He is 4/7 to be in the squad and 7/4 to captain the team. He is 7/2 to score at the Olympics and 33/1 to manage the team.

“Becks is a very patriotic guy and would surely jump at the chance to play for the GB team at the Olympics and because of this, he will have to pick his next club very carefully as he needs to be playing first team football,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Beckham Specials:

Beckham to be in the GB 2012 Olympic squad: 4/7
Beckham to manage the Olympic team: 33/1
Beckham to captain the GB Olympic team in the opening match: 7/4

Bookies Cheer Anfield Stalemate, United 12/1 To Remain Unbeaten All Season

A hard fought battle at Anfield ended in a draw and Manchester United maintained their unbeaten start to the season. William Hill were impressed with the Red Devil’s resilience and make United 12/1 to remain undefeated all season.

“Much like last season, United have had a flying start to the season but this season they appear much harder to break down,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “The unbeaten season is starting to look more and more possible.”

A draw was a fantastic result for bookmakers, with Hill’s having taken a reasonable six figure sum on their highest turnover match of the season.

“Most people watching the game would have had an opinion one way or another and the draw was the perfect result to set up our weekend,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

William Hill Odds:

When will Manchester United next lose: 2/1 Manchester City; 4/1 Everton; 14/1 Sunderland; 14/1 Swansea; 8/1 Newcastle; 6/4 none of these

12/1 Manchester United to remain undefeated all season

Pompey Return For Fa Cup Winners?

Portsmouth are manager-less following Steve Cotterill’s departure to Forest and William Hill make current Pompey first team coach, Stuart Gray, the 7/2 favourite to take the top job. Academy manager, Andy Awford is 5/1 with players from the ‘golden generation’, Sol Campbell and David James offered at 12/1 and 16/1 respectively.

“With Portsmouth still struggling financially, the appointment may well come from within the club rather than bringing in an outsider, although players such as Campbell and James hold the club dear to their hearts following their FA Cup win and may well be tempted to take their first steps into football management at Fratton Park,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Cotterill has taken the helm at the City Ground and Hills make Forest 100/1 to win the league under the popular former Portsmouth man and 20/1 offered for promotion. Relegation may well be more likely at 11/2.

Next Portsmouth manager: 7/2 Stuart Gray; 5/1 Andy Awford; 6/1 Paul Hart; 7/1 Guy Whittingham; 8/1 Kevin MacDonald; 8/1 Mark Robins; 12/1 Sol Campbell; 14/1 Joe Jordan; 16/1 Kit Symons; 16/1 David James; 50/1 Paul Merson

England Odds Shunted Out As Rooney Red Rocks Euro Hopes

On the back of the news that Wayne Rooney has received a three match ban from UEFA, William Hill have shunted England’s odds of winning Euro 2012 out by two points from 9/1 to 11/1. He is 14/1 to receive a red card at the tournament.

“The increase in odds reflects the fact that Rooney has to be considered the only real world class striker in Capello’s armoury,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Wayne Rooney has been pushed out from 9/2 second favourite to 11/2 fourth favourite to be top scorer for England at the tournament behind Darren Bent (7/2), Andy Carroll (9/2) and Steven Gerrard (5/1).

England are 4/7 to qualify from their group but 5/4 to fail to make it to the quarter finals. Rooney is 2/1 to fail to start an England Euro 2012 game (4/11 to start at least one match).

Will Carroll Be Singing Following Rooney’s Rush Of Blood?

Wayne Rooney’s red card against Montenegro means that he will miss the opening game of Euro 2012 and William Hill are offering 10/11 that Andy Carroll is the man to start up top in England’s opener. Danny Welbeck is 6/5 second favourite with Theo Walcott 5/4. Rooney’s rush of blood to the head is being portrayed as an isolated incident but Hills go 20/1 about him getting his marching orders against Liverpool on Saturday.

“Rooney’s rush of blood has opened the door for someone else to come in and impress for Capello’s men at Euro 2012 and the odds suggest that Andy Carroll will be the one to benefit,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Ireland are the shortest priced team to qualify for Euro 2012 via the playoffs after they were drawn against Estonia. Trapattoni’s men are 1/3 to reach Poland and Ukraine while Estonia are 9/4. Portugal failed to qualify automatically and face Bosnia. Hills offer 4/9 that they make it through the two legged tie.

Ireland’s first game is away and they are 13/10 to return from Estonia with a victory in the bag.

Goldenballs Beck To England But Tevez Could Be Off…

David Beckham’s contract with LA Galaxy is due to run out in November and William Hill think that his next contract will be in England offering 8/13 that he returns to these shores. With reported interest from PSG, Hills make France the 4/1 second favourite while he is 5/1 to stay in the US. Recent reports have suggested that Manchester United may be lining Becks up for a Sporting Director’s role and Hills make him 12/1 to fill that role before the end of 2012.

“Becks has never hidden the fact that he would love to return to Manchester United and while he may not be able to bend it as much as he used to, there may well be a seat with his name on in the upper echelons of Old Trafford,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

With Carlos Tevez coming back off his suspension, William Hill do not hold out much hope of him staying put for too long and Hills are offering odds on who he will join next. He is 11/4 to move to Juventus and 4/1 to join Corinthians.

Bookies Burned By Hottest Ever October!

The hottest ever October record temperature was broken on the first day of the month and bookmakers William Hill have been stung by an Indian Summer betting bonanza by meteorological punters. The odds of this month seeing the all time record of 29.4C (1985) had been backed in, all the way from 6/4 to 8/11 by the time that betting ceased at midnight on the 30th September.

“The previous record was officially confirmed as having been smashed just after one o’clock and Hills forked out a five figure sum to eager punters – no doubt on their way to buy burgers and bangers for a final Barbie of the year,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We must have been the only people in the country praying for wind and rain.”

“Not even our Irish punters are rushing to back the Hoops and are more inclined to think there will be a Shamrock Shambles rather than a Rampant Rovers at White Hart Lane,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.
