53/1 TO PREDICT ENGLAND’S EURO GROUP

WILLIAM HILL have offered punters a 53/1 shot to predict the three teams England will be facing in their Euro 2012 Group – and offer 14/5 that they will be draw with Rep of Ireland and 14/5 with Spain. ‘Although in theory there is an exactly equal chance of England meeting any particular one of their potential opponents we all know that the universe likes to play tricks and deliberately devise Groups with story lines – for example, you’d think it must be preordained that England and Republic of Ireland will end up in the same Group – so we are offering 14/5 to name any individual one of England’s opponents, 13/1 to successfully tip two of them, and 53/1 to come up with all three’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Euro 2012…gareth Barry, Goal Machine…rooney Ban

With the Republic of Ireland qualifying for Euro 2012 on Tuesday night, William Hill make them 11/4 to progress further than England in the tournament. Capello’s men are odds on, however, to go further that the Irish at 5/6. By defeating Sweden, England managed to go through the entirety of 2012 without losing once and Hills offer 12/1 that they do so next year (in 90 minutes only).

Reaching the semi finals in the tournament in Poland and the Ukraine would be considered an unbridled success and Hills are offering 6/4 that England reach the last four in 2012 and are also offering 9/2 that they do so in the 2014 World Cup. England are 100/1 to win both the 2012 Euros and 2014 World Cup.

England scored their 2,000th goal against Sweden but unfortunately, it will go down in the record books as an own goal. Hills have decided to pay out on Gareth Barry being first scorer, last scorer, anytime scorer and the 1-0 Gareth Barry scorecast.

“The scoreboard at Wembley displayed throughout the game that Gareth Barry was the goalscorer but despite Daniel Majstorovic being credited as having got the final touch we are celebrating a landmark 2,000 England goals by paying out to any punter who backed the City midfielder to score,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Wayne Rooney will face his disciplinary hearing on the 9th of December and will learn his Euro 2012 fate. He is 11/10 to have his three game reduced and 4/6 that it stays the same or is extended.

England Double (2012 Euros & 2014 WC): 100/1

England to reach Euro 2012 semi finals: 6/4 yes; 1/2 no

England to reach WC 2014 semi finals: 9/2 yes; 1/8

Wales are up against it in their bid to qualify for Euro 2012 and William Hill are offering 20/1 that they manage to emerge from the group. Brian Flynn has taken over the Wales job on an interim basis, however Hills are not expecting much of a honeymoon period and are offering just 9/4 that they get no points in the next two games although he is 6/5 to get the job on permanent basis.

Recently crowned Welsh footballer of the year, Gareth Bale, is an 8/1 shot to get the first goal and 11/4 to score anytime.

England 16/1 For Next World Cup

Record £1 billion gamble on World Cup, but:
BOOKIES CELEBRATE AS FAVOURITES WIN WORLD CUP

DESPITE STARTING AS favourites to win the World Cup, Spain’s triumph produced a profitable return for bookmakers William Hill who say that the World Cup was the biggest gambling event of all time, attracting a record betting turnover of £1 billion.’Not even England’s unexpected early demise prevented the World Cup producing a record betting turnover and fortunately for us Spain’s early defeat by Switzerland seemed to dampen enthusiasm for backing them, which worked in our favour’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
HOWEVER, one Hill’s client who staked £50,000 on Spain at odds of 9/2 (four and a half to one) was celebrating a return of £275,000.
