YOU BET IT MAY BE THE BEGINNING OF THE END FOR FERGIE

WILLIAM HILL offer 5/2 that Sir Alex Ferguson will no longer be Man U boss at the start of next season, and 10/3 that Wayne Rooney will have left the club by then as United crashed to a 2nd straight defeat and Rooney was taken off well before the end of the game. ‘All of a sudden United’s season is collapsing around them and it could be that the Fergie era is coming to an end’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Beckham’s U-turn And Carroll Back To Geordie Shores?

Following the news that both David Beckham and PSG have pulled the plug on his supposed move to Paris, William Hill are now offering 4/11 that his next competitive game is for the LA Galaxy and 4/1 that he signs for any other MLS side. Should he move to England, QPR are the favourites to sign him at 12/1 with Arsenal 16/1. A return to Spain looks the most unlikely outcome with Malaga the favourites of the Spanish sides to sign him up at 25/1.

Hills offer 1/3 that David Beckham starts the first match for Team GB at the Olympics.

“In a full U turn, it looks like Becks will now be staying in America and more than likely, turning out for the Galaxy once again,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Andy Carroll has hardly set the world alight since his arrival at Liverpool from Newcastle and rumours are suggesting that he could well be returning to the North East. Hills make him 10/3 to return to Newcastle, whether permanently or on loan and Hills think that Darren Bent could well be on his way to Anfield, offering 9/2 that he signs for Liverpool in January.

David Beckham’s Next Competitive Game: 4/11 LA Galaxy; 4/1 Any other MLS team; 12/1 QPR; 16/1 Arsenal; 20/1 Fulham; 25/1 Anzhi; 25/1 Chelsea; 25/1 Malaga; 25/1 Man Utd…others on request

10/3 Andy Carroll to return to Newcastle in January 2012 (1/5 not to)

9/2 Darren Bent to sign for Liverpool in January 2012 (1/8 not to)

Wednesday’s Football

Manchester United are firm favourites to defeat Newcastle, despite losing to Blackburn and William Hill make them 8/11 to win in the North East. Newcastle are 4/1 and the game should signal the return of Wayne Rooney to the starting line up. William Hill offer 6/4 that his first action during the game is to score a goal while he is 4/1 to be booked and 40/1 to see a straight red first. Rooney is 15/8 to outscore Demba Ba during the game and 5/2 to outscore Javier Hernandez. The last time these two sides played, Manchester United conceded a highly controversial penalty and they are 11/2 to concede another.

“All eyes will be on Rooney as he returns to the pitch following his suspension and we think he could well find the back of the net,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Landon Donovan could return for Everton against Bolton and Hills make him 9/2 to open the scoring and 6/5 to score anytime. It is Even money for him to be subbed before doing anything else in the match, although he is 2/1 to score a goal before that.

What will Rooney do first vs Newcastle: 6/4 Score; 2/1 finish match; 11/4 subbed; 4/1 yellow card; 40/1 red card; 66/1 own goal

Rooney vs Ba (most goals): 15/8 Rooney; 10/3 Ba; 5/6 Tie

Rooney vs Hernandez (most goals): 5/2 Rooney; 11/4 Hernandez; 8/11 Tie

Manchester United to concede a penalty: 11/2

What will Landon Donovan do first vs Bolton: 1/1 Subbed; 2/1 Goal; 10/3 Finish match; 4/1 Yellow Card; 40/1 Red Card; 50/1 Own Goal

Villas Boas Rescued But Rovers May Be Kean To Give Steve The Elbow

Blackburn were unable to build on their victory at Old Trafford and were promptly defeated at home by Stoke. William Hill make Steve Kean’s men 8/13 to go down with Bolton 8/15 favourites and Wigan 4/7 while they are 11/4 to finish bottom.

Frank Lampard salvaged a victory for Chelsea and Hills make them 9/4 second favourites to win the Premier League without the two Manchester sides. The three points against Wolves has eased some of the pressure on manager, Andre Villas-Boas and Hills make him odds on, at 8/13, to still be at Chelsea on the first day of next season. While AVB was met with cheers, two of his counterparts, Steve Kean and Alex McLeish, were met with jeers and Hills make them 8/13 (Kean) and Even money (McLeish) to have left their positions before the start of the 2012/13 season. Kean is 10/11 favourite to be the second Premier League manager to leave his job.

“Just as Andre Villas-Boas looks doomed, he manages to claw his way back from the brink and our odds hint that he may well be there come next season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Unfortunately, we may not be able to say the same about Steve Kean and Alex McLeish.”

Relegation: 8/15 Bolton; 4/7 Wigan; 8/13 Blackburn; 7/4 Wolves; 9/4 QPR; 3/1 Swansea; 11/2 Norwich; 14/1 BAR

To stay up: 11/8 Bolton; 5/4 Wigan; 6/5 Blackburn; 2/5 Wolves; 1/3 QPR; 2/9 Swansea; 1/10 BAR

Premier League to finish bottom: 2/1 Bolton; 5/2 Wigan; 11/4 Blackburn; 9/1 Wolves; 10/1 QPR; 14/1 Swansea; 20/1 BAR

Winner without Manchester: 13/8 Tottenham; 9/4 Chelsea; 5/2 Arsenal; 6/1 Liverpool; 125/1 Everton; 125/1 Newcastle

Steve Kean still at Blackburn on first day of next season: 6/5 yes; 8/13 No

Alex McLeish to still be at Aston Villa on the first day of next season: 8/11 yes; Evens no

Andre Villas Boas to still be at Chelsea on the first game of next season: 8/13 yes; 6/5 no

Rooney Odds-on To See Fergie Off

Wayne Rooney was left out of the Manchester United side against Blackburn after reportedly breaking a curfew on Boxing Day, but William Hill think that Rooney will get his place in the starting line-up back, offering 1/5 that he starts the next game against Newcastle. This time last year, relations between Rooney and Sir Alex Ferguson were strained as Rooney requested a transfer and Hills offer 8/1 that he asks for another transfer at any point during the January window. Hills think that Rooney will actually see off Ferguson and go 1/2 that he is at United longer than Fergie (6/4 he is not).

Should he leave United, Hills make Manchester City the favourites to sign him at 5/1 with Real Madrid 8/1 and Chelsea and Barcelona at 10/1.

“Despite the sometime volatile relationship between Ferguson and Rooney, we think this particular incident is a mere blip in what we expect to be a long United career for Wayne,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Rooney to start vs Newcastle: 1/5 yes; 10/3 no

Rooney to score against Newcastle: 10/11 anytime; 7/2 first; 4/1 two or more; 20/1 hat-trick

Rooney to be sent off vs Newcastle: 33/1

Will Rooney request a transfer in the January window: 8/1 yes; 1/20 no

Who will be at Manchester United longer: 1/2 Rooney; 6/4 Ferguson

When will Rooney leave Manchester United: 7/1 2012; 11/2 2013; 9/4 2014; 15/8 2015; 12/1 2016; 5/2 2017 or later

Wayne Rooney next club: 5/1 Manchester City; 8/1 Real Madrid; 10/1 Barcelona; 10/1 Chelsea

SPURS FALTER IN TITLE/TOP 4 QUEST

WILLIAM HILL have lengthened Spurs from 18/1 to 20/1 fourth favourites for the Premier League title after their defeat at Stoke – and Harry Redknapp’s men are now 4/6 to secure a top four place at the end of the campaign. ‘Recent exertions seemed to catch up with Spurs but it is difficult to believe they will drop out of the hunt for a Champions League place just yet’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
