Carlos’ Argie Jaunt Could See Tevez Out Of The Door…foxes Snare Pearson

Following Carlos Tevez’s unscheduled break to Argentina, William Hill offer 1/3 that he leaves Manchester City during the January transfer window, whether permanently or on loan. The favourite to sign him is Juventus with the Old Lady 11/4 to be the next club to capture Tevez’s signature. Former club, Corinthians, are 4/1 while the two Milan sides, Inter and AC are both offered at 6/1.

“There is no doubting that Carlos Tevez is a brilliant player but any club who signs him will be doing so in the knowledge that they will probably be stuck with all his baggage as well,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Roberto Mancini has claimed that Tevez can play again for Manchester City if only he apologises for his recent behaviour but Hills do not think that is likely and he is just 1/6 to start a Premier League game for City this season.

Leicester Latest

Leicester City are expected to announce the signing of Nigel Pearson as their manager later today and William Hill offer 3/1 that he gets them promoted at the first time of asking. Given Leicester City’s reputation for sacking managers, should things not improve at the King Power Stadium, Pearson could be given his marching orders and Hills offer 7/1 that he will not be manager come the final day of the season (1/16 to still be there).

You Bet England Should Wear Poppy Shirts

YOU BET ENGLAND SHOULD WEAR POPPIES ON THEIR SHIRTS

BOOKMAKERS William Hill have opened a book on whether England’s players will wear poppies on their shirts when they take on Spain at the weekend – and the bookies have pledged to donate all of their winnings from the market to the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
‘We think it is unlikely that the FA will be permitted to wear the poppy shirts, but doubt whether they would do it regardless and risk the wrath of the governing body. However, we are very much in favour of poppies on the shirts, and will guarantee a minimum four figure donation to the Poppy Appeal, win or lose’ said William Hill spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Will Their Hearts Be In It? Former Jambos Bosses Favourites For Hibs Job

Jim Jeffries has emerged as William Hill’s 5/2 favourite to become the next Hibs boss. The former Hearts boss is joined in the top three in the betting by another former Hearts manager Billy Brown at 4/1 and Shamrock Rovers manager Michael O’Neill at 3/1.

“There are a number of likely candidates for the position but it is strange to see two former Hearts bosses so high in the betting,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It seems that in the fickle world of football, these managers would have no qualms in crossing the great divide.”

Other contenders include Mark McGhee at 6/1 and Gordon Strachan, Jimmy Calderwood and Gus McPherson – all at 8/1.

Next Hibernian Boss: 5/2 Jim Jeffries; 3/1 Michael O’Neill; 4/1 Billy Brown; 6/1 Mark McGhee; 8/1 Gordon Strachan; 8/1 Jimmy Calderwood; 8/1 Gus McPherson; 10/1 Gary Bollan; 10/1 Billy Stark; 10/1 John Robertson; 10/1 Danny Lennon; 12/1 Billy Reid; 12/1 Jackie McNamara; 14/1 Billy Davies; 16/1 Terry Butcher; 16/1 John Collins; 16/1 Allan Moore; 16/1 John Hughes; 20/1 Paul Cook

Lucky Punters Quids In After Weekend Football Feast

Two William Hill punters were over the moon as they both scooped a small fortune on the football this weekend. The two winners from Sidcup and Watford netted £28,333.76 between them from just £13.75.

The Sidcup punter, who regularly bets on the football at the weekend, placed a £10, 12 team accumulator on Saturday morning and was waiting on four results on Sunday to bag him £17,368.63. Leeds, Brighton, Tottenham and Reading duly won to add to wins from Cardiff, Rangers and Manchester United amongst others.

The Watford based punter placed a 25p Lucky 15 (a four selection bet consisting of four singles, six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold) which returned £10,965.13. Rather than selecting sides to win, lose or draw, the gutsy punter predicted four correct scores. The selections were Aston Villa to defeat Norwich 3-2 at 25/1, Arsenal to win against West Brom 3-0, Newcastle recording a 2-1 victory over Everton at 15/2 and a 3-1 win for Spurs over Fulham at 16/1.

“It is incredibly difficult to predict the outcome of a match, let alone the correct score and so to do so four times on one bet is almost unprecedented,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We have to take our hats off to this punter, who has increased his initial outlay by almost 3000 times.”

Sidcup Bet – £10 stake won £17,368.63 Watford Bet – £3.75

Terry 6/4 To Be Left Out Of Spain/ Sweden Games!

With John Terry having been called up into Fabio Capello’s provisional squad for the two friendlies against Spain and Sweden, William Hill offer 11/8 that he starts both games and 6/4 that he starts neither of them. He is 11/5 to start just one. Terry is 8/13 to wear the Captain’s armband for the opening game of Euro 2012 with Rio Ferdinand and Steven Gerrard both priced at 4/1. Terry is 1/3 to make Capello’s squad, while Rio Ferdinand is 4/9.

England are 4/6 to win just one of the two games and 3/1 to win both of them. They are 5/2 to fail to win both games.

Hills Saved From Monster Payout By European Minnows

William Hill were celebrating a fantastic night of Champions League football as both English sides taking part were held to draws. Early estimates suggest that Hills were saved from paying out almost £350,000 on just the 90 minutes alone.

United Pegged As Easy Winners On Wednesday Night

…William Hill Wednesday Champions League Latest…

Manchester United are expected to win comfortably when they host Romanian minnows FC Otelul Galati and Hills make them 1/12 to secure victory. William Hill think that United are going to be such easy winners, they are 10/3 favourites to be the highest scoring team on Wednesday night and 11/2 to favourites to score the fastest goal. The two sides have only ever met once before, when they played each other two weeks ago at the Otelul Stadium. United ran out 2-0 winners and Hills go 5/1 about that scoreline being repeated.

Manchester are 1/2 to win to nil and Hills offer 8/5 that Utd score four or more.

“It looks as though it will be plain sailing for United who are all but certain to put their tough couple of weeks well and truly behind them,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Clark Firm Favourite For Leicester Job In Ongoing Saga

Lee Clark has been backed all the way in to 4/11 to become the next manager of Leicester City. The Huddersfield manager has been the subject of a number of three figure bets that have seen his odds in the last 48 hours tumble from 4/7. The only other contender that has been backed is Mark Hughes and his odds have been halved from 4/1 to 2/1. Nigel Pearson is 7/1 third favourite.

“Given the frequency with which Leicester change their manager, you would be forgiven for thinking that the Foxes board would have streamlined their hiring process but alas, punters are still waiting and Lee Clarke is now the firm favourite,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It would seem that this one has a long way to go yet however.”

Next Permanent Leicester Manager: 4/11 Lee Clark; 2/1 Mark Hughes; 7/1 Nigel Pearson; 8/1 Kevin Keegan; 10/1 Roy Keane; 10/1 Gordon Strachan; 12/1 Billy Davies; 12/1 Rafael Benitez; 14/1 Martin O’Neill; 14/1 Dougie Freedman; 16/1 Neil Lennon; 20/1 BAR

Is Hazard Headed For London ?

HAZARDOUS MOVE ? YOU BET EDEN HEADED FOR LONDON

WILLIAM HILL have opened a book on where sought after Lille midfielder Eden Hazard will end up when he leaves the club, probably at the end of this season – and make Chelsea 9/4 favourites to snap the Belgian up. ‘Arsenal are believed to covet M Eden but not everyone at Lille would like to see him end up at the Emirates, so they are only 7/2 second favourites in our market’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills make PSG 4/1 third favourites, with Real Madrid at 6/1; Inter/Man City 7/1; Bayern Munich 12/1; Liverpool 16/1.
