Allen Key For Liverpool This Season But Prem Is A Long Way Off

Joe Allen has finally completed his move to Liverpool and William Hill think that he will slot straight into the Red’s starting XI offering 1/6 that he starts next week’s opening Premier League fixture against West Brom. He is 1/5 to start more games than last season’s flop signings Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson. Allen will also be expected to chip in with a few goals and he is 2/1 to score four or five this season and 5/2 to grab six or more.

Allen’s arrival comes in the same week as a Liverpool fan walked into a shop in central Liverpool and placed £22,000 e/w on his side winning the league at 25/1. Should Liverpool win the League he will scoop £777,333.33 and should they finish second, he will pick up £205,333.33.

Liverpool are now 16/1 to win the league, but are a long way behind Manchester sides City and United, who are offered at 11/8 and 11/4 respectively. After Liverpool, Manchester City have been by far the best backed side and for the first time since the Premier League came into existence, punters are pretty much staying away from Manchester United.

“Joe Allen and Fabio Borini are two good players and certainly ones to watch for the future, but whether they will provide the quality that Liverpool quite obviously need to win the league or even come close looks a far stretch,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Starts for Liverpool match bet: 1/5 Joe Allen; 4/1 Jordan Henderson; 10/1 Charlie Adam

Joe Allen Premier League goals: 10/3 0-1; 9/4 2-3; 2/1 4-5; 5/2 6 or more

To start vs West Brom: 1/6 yes; 7/2 no

Premier League winner: 11/8 Manchester City; 11/4 Manchester United; 5/1 Chelsea; 12/1 Arsenal; 16/1 Liverpool; 25/1 Tottenham; 150/1 BAR

William Hill have opened a book on how many of the players who started against Switzerland will do so for the next England Euro qualifier- and offer 8/1 that it is nine or more. ‘We don’t believe too many players came out of the Swiss game with an enhanced reputation and suspect that fewer that half of them will start the next Euro match’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

********************************PREMIER LEAGUE / ENGLAND SPECIALS*************************************************************

ODDS ON NEXT ENGLAND BOSS WILL BE ENGLISH

William Hill have cut their odds for the next England manager to be English from 1/3 to 1/8 after an FA spokesman confirmed that they planned to appoint an English manager next time round. Hills offer 9/2 that the next appointee will not be English.
‘It is odd that the FA should be making such announcements at a time when they are also apparently confirming their confidence in Fabio who could, in theory, stay around until 2012’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills have made Harry Redknapp 9/4 favourite to be next England boss – with David Beckham at 20/1.

NEXT FULL TIME ENGLAND MANAGER…William Hill……9/4 Redknapp; 7/2 Pearce; 6 Hodgson; 8 O’Neill; 11 Allardyce; 14 Bruce- Hughes; Mourinho; 20 Beckham; Shearer; Wenger.

BLACKPOOL FANS ROCK BOOKIES WITH 25/1 WINNER

William Hill have paid out to punters who took their odds of 25/1 that Blackpool would top the Premier League at somestage this season after they led the way on goal difference after their 4-0 win at Wigan and before Chelsea hammered WBA 6-0.
‘Blackpool fans are collecting their first cash of the season after taking 25/1 that their side would top the League – we’re also concerned that so many of them backed Blackpool to WIN the League that we have had to slash their odds to 2000/1 and we already face a £5m loss – if they carry on as they have started we may start to get a little nervous!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

William Hill are currently quoting the three Premier League managers named Roberto as their three favourites to be the next manager to leave their club – with Martinez clear 5/2 favourite following Wigan’s humiliating defeat to Blackpool, while Man C’s Mancini and West Brom’s Di Matteo are joint second favourites at 9/2.
‘The three are under pressure for different reasons but it is coincidental that they should all suddenly emerge as prime candidates for the chop after just one game’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
NEXT PREM BOSS TO GO…..William Hill….5/2 Martinez; 9/2 Di Matteo; Mancini; 5 Hughton; 6 McLeish; 8 Bruce; Holloway; 12 Grant; 14 Allardyce; McCarthy; 20 Coyle; Hughes.

Biggest World Cup Gamble Ever On England V Germany

Bookies fear melt-down if England win World Cup as:
BIGGEST WORLD CUP GAMBLE EVER ON ENGLAND V GERMANY

WITH THE WORLD CUP already on course to become the biggest betting event of all time with over £1 billion gambled for the first time on any one tournament, William Hill are predicting that England versus Germany on Sunday could produce the biggest betting turnover ever for an individual match.
‘This match has the potential to produce a bigger betting turnover than the Final given the rivalry between the two countries over the years and it is a certainty that over £25million will be at stake on the outcome, while it could go much higher than that’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’And if England do go through and meet Argentina in the next round that could be an even bigger betting game. Should England go all the way and win the World Cup bookies will have to shell out up to £50m, making it the grimmest day in bookmaking – currently a record held by Frankie Dettori’s seven race winning streak at Ascot in September 1996′
ENGLAND are 17/10 to win the game in 90m play with Germany 9/5, and the draw 2/1.
**William Hill expect to take bets from customers in a record 188 countries via the internet on the England-Germany game.

ENGLAND 3/1 FOR FIVE STAR PENALTY DISPLAY
William Hill are offering 3/1 that England will score ALL of their first FIVE penalties in any shoot-out they take part in at the World Cup.
Hills OFFER 9/2 THAT ENGLAND-GERMANY WILL BE DECIDED VIA A PENALTY SHOOT OUT, 10/1 THAT ENGLAND WIN BY THAT METHOD, 9/1 THAT GERMANY DO SO.
And Hills have opened a book on whether named players score their first spot-kicks in the first shoot-out they contest:

William Hill…..PAYING THE PENALTY: ( prices to score)
Barry yes 1/3, no 9/4
Gerrard yes 1/3, no 9/4
Lampard yes 2/7, no 5/2
Milner yes 2/7, no 5/2
Rooney yes 1/3, no 9/4

William Hill ENGLAND-GERMANY/WORLD CUP SPECIALS…..
1/2 England to be allowed a beer by Fabio on the eve of the match; 6/4 not.
6/4 Rooney to score his first goal in 1st 90m play.
2/1 Defoe to score again within first 90m play.
3/1 England player(s) to celebrate victory over Germany by blowing vuvuzela.
9/2 Game to go to penalty shoot-out.
10/1 Fabio pictured drinking pint of beer,
16/1 Fabio given honorary knighthood.
25/1 Fabio to appear in tv beer commercial.
100/1 England to beat Germany 4-2
200/1 England to beat Germany 5-1.

ENGLAND FAVOURITES TO OUTDO ANDY MURRAY
William Hill offer 4/7 that the England football team are still in the World Cup when Andy Murray is knocked out of Wimbledon – 5/4 that it happens the other way round! ‘There are no English players left in the Wimbledon tournament so Andy has already scored a win for Scotland over England – but now comes the big one – Andy to outlast the England football team.’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

DEVON PUNTER CREAMS OFF BIG WORLD CUP PROFITS
A mystery punter from Eastern Europe has won over £50,000 on a World Cup winning streak at William Hill in Tiverton. This makes him Hill’s biggest ever football winner in Devon. Having staked £3770 on Michael Dawson to score first in England’s dour 0-0 draw with Algeria at 25/1, the mystery man claimed back his stake due to Dawson not playing. He promptly placed the whole £3770 on Wesley Sneijder to score first for Holland against Japan at 6/1 and Paraguay to beat Slovakia at 10/11 – both at the weekend. This won the man £50,380.91. He then proceeded to reinvest £11,000 of this on England to win against Slovenia winning him a further £4,440 taking his winning streak to well over £50,000.
**BY CONTRAST, a William Hill telephone betting client was deprived of a potential £360,000 payout from an accumulator bet on Group outcomes when Italy failed to qualify from their Group.

You Bet David James Will Start In Goal

YOU BET DAVID JAMES WILL START IN GOAL

AFTER punters asked for bets of up to £2000 a time for David James to start in goal against Algeria on Friday and others staked up to £400 on the Portsmouth keeper to get the nod over Rob Green and Joe Hart, William Hill have closed their book.
‘We began to see a flurry of support for David James, with several three figure bets staked in Cardiff, Greater London and the Channel Islands, with one punter trying to bet £2000. These are not the type of bets we normally see on a market of this nature and as support for the other two has dried up we have closed the book at least temporarily’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’We’re confident that Fabio will not have made his decision known yet but when a market likes this begins to suggest a one horse race it is time to take defensive action just in case…..’

Pompey Drop Payout

********POMPEY DROP PAY OUT*******

BOOKMAKERS William Hill are paying out on Portsmouth being relegated from the Premiership. ‘Pompey are poised to go into administration on Friday, and if they do so they will be a massive odds-on shot to be relegated; as it is, they are currently 1/20 for the drop, having opened the season at 7/1 to go down, and it seems like delaying the inevitable not to pay out now. Punters will benefit to the tune of a five figure payout, which they would almost certainly have received in any case a few weeks down the line’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.
