Could Strikers Be On Their Ways Out Of North London?

Jermaine Defoe is reportedly the subject of some interest on Merseyside and William Hill make him 6/1 to join Liverpool this January, although he is 1/4 to remain at Spurs. Across North London, Arsene Wenger is under increasing pressure to bring success to the Emirates, but despite this, he is 66/1 to be the next Premier League manager to lose his job. Hills are offering 5/2, however that Wenger is no longer Arsenal manager come the first day of next season. Robin van Persie contract expires in 2013 but despite this, Hills do not think that Arsenal will cash in on their prize asset just yet. He is 2/5 to still be an Arsenal player on the first day of the 2012/13 Premier League season.

“Arsenal have not looked their usual selves this year but we think that both van Persie and Wenger will stay put in order to help their push for Europe in the second half of the season,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Arsene Wenger’s conqueror from Sunday, Brendan Rodgers, is 5/1 second favourite to be voted LMA manager of the year behind 5/2 favourite Roberto Mancini. Sir Alex Ferguson and Paul Lambert are the 13/2 joint third favourites.

Gary Cahill’s long protracted move to Chelsea, was finally completed on Monday and William Hill make him 11/10 to start England’s first Euro 2012 match. He is 20/1 to start the first goal of Chelsea’s match against Norwich this weekend and 7/1 to score anytime.

Jermaine Defoe’s club after January Transfer window: 1/4 Tottenham; 6/1 QPR; 6/1 Liverpool; 12/1 Newcastle; 14/1 Aston Villa; 18/1 Sunderland; 25/1 Fulham

Who will leave Arsenal first: 1/2 Robin van Persie; 6/4 Arsene Wenger

Carroll Becomes The Main Man For Liverpool…transfer Specials

Luis Suarez started his eight game ban against Manchester City and Andy Carroll will need to come to the party. Hills are betting on how many goals Carroll scores in the next seven matches and make one goal the 5/2 favourite. He is 11/4 to bag two and 7/2 to score three. Carroll is 7/2 to draw a blank in the entirety of Suarez’s absence.

“Andy Carroll has had a difficult start to his Liverpool career and for the first time since arriving at Anfield, he will be the focal point of the side’s attacks for a sustained period of time,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “It is now time for him to start performing and we think that while he may not sparkle, he should get a couple of goals for the cause.”

Jermain Defoe was on target for Spurs as they defeated West Brom and William Hill think that he will remain a Spurs player come the end of the transfer window. He is 4/11 to still be at White Hart Lane and 2/1 to have left, with Newcastle the 3/1 favourites to be his next club after Spurs. Defoe is 13/8 to start England’s first Euro 2012 game (4/9 not to) and is 50/1 to be the Euro 2012 leading goalscorer. Spurs’ victory over WBA resulted in another three points in their quest to finish in the top four and Hills make them 2/7 to finish in the Champions League spots.

There are question marks over the futures of two more of English football’s top strikers and Hills offer 11/10 that Bobby Zamora leaves Fulham this window and Even money that Didier Drogba leaves Chelsea in the same time frame. Bolton are the 15/8 favourites to be Zamora’s next club, while there are three Chinese sides (Shanghai Shenhua, Guangzho Evergrande and Dakaub Aerbin) at 3/1 to be Drogba’s next club.

How many goals will Andy Carroll score in the next seven games (all competitions): 7/2 none; 5/2 one; 11/4 two; 7/2 three; 9/2 four; 7/1 five or more

Defoe still at Tottenham after January Transfer Window: 4/11 Yes; 2/1 No

PREMIER LEAGUE SPECIALS 26TH/27TH DEC –

11/2 Big 6 to batter bookies:
20/1 BANK HOLIDAY GOALS BONANZA

WITH the top six Premier League clubs all facing apparently straightforward matches on December 26/27, William Hill have slashed their usual odds for a hat trick to be scored in a round of Prem matches from 4/1 to 7/4 – the shortest odds they have ever quoted, and have cut their odds for these matches to beat the current record total of 43 goals in a single round of games, from 33/1 to 20/1.
‘With City, United, Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool all involved in eminently winnable matches we are anticipating that the record of 43 goals will be vulnerable and that there is much more chance of a hat trick being scored than usual’ said Hills spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills are also currently offering 8/11 that Man City will set a new record total of 103 or more Premier League goals this season, Evens that they do not.
WILLIAM HIL OFFER 11/2 THAT THE BIG 6 – ARSENAL, CHELSEA, LIVERPOOL, MAN C, MAN U, SPURS ALL WIN THEIR GAMES OVER DEC 26/27 – ‘We anticipate a multitude of punters looking to reduce their festive bills by cashing in on what looks like a simple six-timer’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe, ‘But we’re optimistic that at least one of them will fail to take three points’
The current record goals total for a single player in a Premier League season is 34, shared by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer – and Hills offer 10/1 that it will be broken this season. ‘That record was set in a 42 game season but with several strikers in blistering form this term it is looking increasingly vulnerable’ said Sharpe.

Could Tottenham Have The Spurs To Go The Distance

Tottenham won once more to keep the pressure on the big boys and Hills make Spurs 33/1 to win the Premier League. Spurs, now third in the Premier League table, are 5/6 with William Hill to finish in the top half this season and 5/6 to finish the season in the Europa League.

“After a slightly slow start to the season, Spurs have chalked up 8 wins in 9 and on current form look a very good bet to bag a top four spot,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Emmanuel Adebayor secured a brace against Villa and Hills think that he will give the current Manchester City strikers a run for their money. He is Evens to outscore Balotelli, 3/1 to outscore Aguero and 10/3to outscore Dzeko.

You Bet Jags Or Lescott Will Start Alongside Terry But Capello To Ring Changes

A largely experimental England side performed well for Fabio Capello, but William Hill think that the changes will be rung when the side steps out for their opener at the European Championships. Hills offer 2/1 that just three of the starting XI vs Sweden start England’s first game in Poland and the Ukraine, with four the same price.

The defence was well marshalled by John Terry and Gary Cahill and Hills offer 13/2 that this pairing start England’s first Euros game although the most likely seems to be John Terry with either Lescott or Jagielka (both 9/4). It would appear that the seemingly unbreakable partnership of Terry and Ferdinand has reached its end, with Hills making them 10/1 to line up side by side for England’s first Euros match.

“Cahill and Terry played well together but we think that Jagielka or Lescott may just get the nod ahead of Cahill to line up next to the captain,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

England have secured two wins in two home friendlies and are due to play Holland at the start of next year and Hills make England slight favourites at 13/10 to win the match, with Holland13/8 and the draw 11/10.

You Bet Scotland Won’t Be Paying The Penalty Against Lithuania

Scotland suffered last minute heartbreak against Czech Republic at Hampden Park on Saturday and all eyes will turn to the referee against Lithuania this week. Hills are offering 10/3 that there is a penalty awarded in the match (1/5 there is not one awarded). Scotland are 50/1 to qualify for Euro 2012 but the odds indicate that there is no reason why they should not win, offered at 8/13 to win with their visitors 5/1. The draw is offered at 13/5.

“Scotland should be able to see off Lithuania in their latest Euro 2012 qualifier and the odds suggest that they should do so with relative ease,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “Unfortunately whether they qualify is now out of their own hands and it appears that they have only the slimmest chance of doing so.”

Premier League Looks Set To Strike It Lucky

With a host of top quality strikers set to be plying their trade in the Premier League next season, William Hill think that the 2011/12 could be yet another record breaking season, offering 4/5 that last season’s total of 1063 goals is broken this year. With a number of the ‘top six’ sides recruiting heavily over the summer break, Hills are offering 5/6 that the top six score more than the 334 that they mustered last season.

Manchester United lead the scoring charts last season and 9/4 is offered for them to do so once again, while Chelsea are the 11/4 second favourites. Hills also offer 7/4 that over 30 goals are scored on the opening weekend of the season.

“Last season was a record breaker with more goals scored than any previous year in Premier League history and with a number of top strikers set to line up for their sides this season, the goals look set to flow,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Despite suffering a somewhat rocky start to his Chelsea career, Hills are backing Fernando Torres to do the business this season and make him the 13/8 favourite to be Chelsea’s top marksman this season. Didier Drogba is offered at 11/4 and Frank Lampard is 9/2.

Manchester United 5/4 To Sign Player Before Charity Shield…6/4 It Will Be Sneijder!

Despite the need for a world class midfielder to replace Paul Scholes, William Hill are 4/7 that Sir Alex Ferguson does NOT sign another player prior to the Charity Shield and 5/4 that he does. Hills are 6/4 that the next player Sir Alex signs is Wesley Sneijder, 7/4 that it is Luka Modric, 11/2 Sami Nasri and 7/2 Jack Rodwell. ManUtd are the 7/4 favourites to win the Premiership and to do so they will need their strikers firing on all cylinders – Hills make Hernandez their 6/4 favourite to be the club’s top Premiership scorer with Rooney 13/8 and Berbatov 7/1.

“Even with an obvious gap in their midfield, Manchester United are the favourites to win back to back Premiership titles and should they land Sneijder they could get even shorter,” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

Aguero Vs Torres: Let The Goals Begin!

Sergio Aguero could be a great signing for Manchester City and Hills offer 7/4 that he will score more than sixteen Premiership goals in the season, but 5/4 eleven or less. Aguero is set to become the second most expensive striker behind Torres who is 7/1 for the golden boot ahead of Aguero who is 11/1. Torres is 4/6 to score more Prem goals than Aguero (11/10) but after his disappointing last season for Chelsea Torres is available at 6/1 to fail to score in the first five Premiership games of this season .

Hills offer 11/10 for Torres to get off to a flyer and score against Stoke on the opening day.

“The Premiership is stuffed with fantastic strikers but with their price tags the pressure will be on Aguero & Torres to be quick out of the blocks!” said Hill’s spokesman Rupert Adams.

William Hill Bet:

Total Premiership Goals Sergio Aguero: 5/4 Eleven or less, 2/1 Twelve –Fifteen, 7/4 Sixteen or more
