Bromley Man Strikes It Lucky For Second Time!

A Kent man in his fifties was celebrating for the second time in less than a year after beating odds of almost 2000/1 to scoop a massive £38,033.24 from his local William Hill shop in Bromley. It was not the first time that this customer has won big in recent times, having had a 12 fold accumulator late last year that paid out £27,000.

This time around the punter, who wishes to remain anonymous, selected 15 sides from various leagues and competitions around Europe in a £20 football accumulator. Among his selections were sides from the Europa and Champions League, the Dutch second division and the Polish Premier League. Despite having a seemingly varied knowledge of football on the continent, Arsenal (8/15 to defeat Newcastle), Chelsea (to defeat Napoli at 4/6) and Manchester City (2/9 to defeat Sporting Lisbon) were all in his coupon.

“Usually I would have said that this was a once in a lifetime bet but this guy has knocked us for six twice in a year, he is the new guru,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

“Other customers are asking us what he is betting on so they can follow him,” said staff in the shop.

Winning Selections:

Udinese to beat AZ Alkmaar 5/6

Chelsea to beat Napoli 4/6

Hannover to beat Standard 8/13

Wrexham to beat Ebbsfleet 8/13

JOSE IN DEMAND? YOU BET HE IS…….

WITH JOSE MOURINHO strongly fancied for a return to Chelsea, William Hill were anticipating taking plenty of bets for him to succeed AVB as permanent boss at Stamford Bridge – so when a Kent punter asked for a £1000 bet on him they were surprised that it was for him to take over at Spurs! ‘Mourinho is being backed to be the next boss at Chelsea, Spurs, Manchester United and England – even a man of his ability is unlikely to be able to complete that set’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.’The available Rafa Benitez and Mourinho are the best fancied Chelsea contenders so far.’
Meanwhile, another ‘next boss’ punter staked £3000 on Harry Redknapp becoming the next England manager. ‘Many punters regard the England job as a fait accompli, but if Spurs continue to concede goals at their current rate it may not be!’ said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

We think the SPL could be well placed to be considered for the honour of staging the first League game to boast goal-line technology.’ Said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

Scottish Premier League 13/8

Arsenal Fan Cheering Despite Defeat As He Bags £31,638.47

Arsenal may have been defeated by Manchester United on Sunday, but there was one Gooner who was celebrating well into the early hours. An Irish William Hill punter (and avid Arsenal fan) from Stockport bagged a whopping £31,638.47 from a £10 stake. The punter, who usually bets £10 a week on the football, put all of his eggs in one basket and predicted 14 games in which both teams would score including Arsenal’s 2-1 defeat to United.

The 28 year old punter has only lived in the UK for 7 months and chose to do the ‘Will Both Teams Score?’ coupon for the very first time on Sunday. “This is the first time that I have played this coupon and I will certainly be having a little punt on it next weekend.”

The ‘Will Both Teams Score?’ coupon is one of William Hill’s fastest growing coupons despite only having been around for just over two years. “The coupon is incredibly popular because the bet lasts for 90 minutes of each match,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. The bet paid out at odds of 3163/1 and is the largest payout that Hills have made on that coupon this season.

“About a year ago, we had a horrific weekend where every Premier League team scored and this is our biggest pay out on this coupon since then,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Winning Bet – Both Teams To Score:

8/13 Utrecht vs PSV
4/6 Man City vs Tottenham
10/11 Osasuna vs Valencia
4/7 AZ Alkmaar vs Ajax
4/6 VVV Venlo vs Feyenoord
1/1 Valenciennes vs Bastia
8/13 Arsenal vs Manchester United
5/6 Siena vs Napoli
5/6 Lecce vs Chievo
8/11 Hamburg vs Dortmund
1/1 Inter Milan vs Lazio
8/11 Leverkusen vs Mainz
8/11 Real Madrid vs Ath Bilbao
11/10 Marseille vs Le Havre

Fast Food Worker Serves Up A £75.5k Winner At William Hill

A mystery 53 year old William Hill shop punter, from Caernarfon, is on cloud nine after a £2 football accumulator paid out to the tune of £75,582.85. When asked if he had any plans for the money, he said he was going to treat his wife and three children.

“This punter must have an incredible knowledge of European football as he has not just picked 14 favourites in his selections, he has gone for a few outsiders as well,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Euro 2012…gareth Barry, Goal Machine…rooney Ban

With the Republic of Ireland qualifying for Euro 2012 on Tuesday night, William Hill make them 11/4 to progress further than England in the tournament. Capello’s men are odds on, however, to go further that the Irish at 5/6. By defeating Sweden, England managed to go through the entirety of 2012 without losing once and Hills offer 12/1 that they do so next year (in 90 minutes only).

Reaching the semi finals in the tournament in Poland and the Ukraine would be considered an unbridled success and Hills are offering 6/4 that England reach the last four in 2012 and are also offering 9/2 that they do so in the 2014 World Cup. England are 100/1 to win both the 2012 Euros and 2014 World Cup.

England scored their 2,000th goal against Sweden but unfortunately, it will go down in the record books as an own goal. Hills have decided to pay out on Gareth Barry being first scorer, last scorer, anytime scorer and the 1-0 Gareth Barry scorecast.

“The scoreboard at Wembley displayed throughout the game that Gareth Barry was the goalscorer but despite Daniel Majstorovic being credited as having got the final touch we are celebrating a landmark 2,000 England goals by paying out to any punter who backed the City midfielder to score,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Wayne Rooney will face his disciplinary hearing on the 9th of December and will learn his Euro 2012 fate. He is 11/10 to have his three game reduced and 4/6 that it stays the same or is extended.

England Double (2012 Euros & 2014 WC): 100/1

England to reach Euro 2012 semi finals: 6/4 yes; 1/2 no

England to reach WC 2014 semi finals: 9/2 yes; 1/8

Euro 2012 – England/Rep Ireland Match Bet: 5/6 England; 11/4 Ireland; 2/1 Draw

Wayne Rooney Ban after the hearing on the 9th December: 11/10 Ban is reduced; 4/6 Ban stays the same or is extended

Gutsy Scottish Punter Burns Bookies To The Tune Of £39,000

Bookmakers William Hill were burned by an Ayrshire punter who made a profit of £39,000 by backing Scotland to defeat Cyprus to the tune of £30,000. The gutsy punter walked into an Ayrshire shop and placed the bet at odds of 13/10 and in doing so, placed the biggest ever bet that Hills have taken on Scotland to win a match.

“When we heard about the bet, we were very surprised as this unknown Scottish punter was willing to risk such a large stake on a nothing friendly, but Craig Levein’s men have done the job and in the process, more than doubled this punter’s cash,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly.

Lucky Punters Quids In After Weekend Football Feast

Two William Hill punters were over the moon as they both scooped a small fortune on the football this weekend. The two winners from Sidcup and Watford netted £28,333.76 between them from just £13.75.

The Sidcup punter, who regularly bets on the football at the weekend, placed a £10, 12 team accumulator on Saturday morning and was waiting on four results on Sunday to bag him £17,368.63. Leeds, Brighton, Tottenham and Reading duly won to add to wins from Cardiff, Rangers and Manchester United amongst others.

The Watford based punter placed a 25p Lucky 15 (a four selection bet consisting of four singles, six doubles, four trebles and one fourfold) which returned £10,965.13. Rather than selecting sides to win, lose or draw, the gutsy punter predicted four correct scores. The selections were Aston Villa to defeat Norwich 3-2 at 25/1, Arsenal to win against West Brom 3-0, Newcastle recording a 2-1 victory over Everton at 15/2 and a 3-1 win for Spurs over Fulham at 16/1.

“It is incredibly difficult to predict the outcome of a match, let alone the correct score and so to do so four times on one bet is almost unprecedented,” said Hill’s spokesman Joe Crilly. “We have to take our hats off to this punter, who has increased his initial outlay by almost 3000 times.”

Sidcup Bet – £10 stake won £17,368.63 Watford Bet – £3.75
